Yes, i think so & the boys hair is thicker! Oh but the boys have a short torso now, when it was all long it took me longer:fainted: I'm even thinking about cutting them all short except head, it took me an hour earlier just to comb Jude through:tongue7:

Just to make it clear, that hour of drying is only drying time! Does not include pre brush, bath, another brush & then i dry:tongue5: Phew, infact i think i'll shave the lot:(

Yes I Know, it takes me another 20 minutes just to wash him, I didnt count that in the hour to dry him. I like the puppy- cut. I am just waiting for his face to grow in more, and his topknot to come back:mad:

The Maltese hair is the quickest to dry, both my boys have double coats ( Teddy's feels like triple ) . Teddy takes 90 minutes, and he's still not completely dry at the end . Henry takes almost as long . Sarah

Kallie takes a good 45 minutes to dry......15 on the bath and because I brush "every" day faithfully..........10 minutes to brush out and put topknots in. Toby takes a lot less because he is smaller and less hair with his thinner coat. But when I am done and they look so gorgeous, I just can't pull myself to cut either one of them into a puppy cut!:(

It takes me about an hour each pup ( excluding Ernie) that is from start to finish.
1. a quick brush
2. trim butt, feet, face, etc etc
3. clean teeth
4. clean ears
5. hit the bath
6. dry off with hair dryer and brush

Now if I am giving them an all over trim, it takes me around 1 1/2 to 2 hours each. Both Sammy Maree and Max are in a short summer cut ( shorter than your puppy cut, you can see in the pic)

Now Ernie takes me around 10-15min
1. teeth clean
2. ear clean
3. hit the bath
4. towel dry
5. trim nails ( softer after bath)
DONE.

I brush Scrappy every day and sometimes several times a day. If he sees a brush in my hand he does the happy dance till he gets a brush :D

Scrappy loooves his grooming sessions so his primping and preening can take several hours. Oh, good lord, what am I going to be like with two.... I need a head spinning smilie :D

Sorry Scrappy looks like less cuddles are in your future at bath time.

Have you guys thought of some air drying time...that is what I do with my yorkies. is malteses hair different.?? OR
.do they shed like a jack r .
I thought there hair was like a yorkie???
Actully all dogs do shed...but my yorkies will shake water off and no hair goes flying every where..love that.. than I have a spray bottle of water if I want to style them alittle. after there baths the run every where and i lay some towels on the floor for they can dry them self some..I think it is faster and easier on my back..

Neither the yorkies or malteses shed other than the amount that you or I would shed as humans. I have a yorkie and a maltese. I probably could let the Yorkie air dry with no problems as his hair is thinner and is totally different than the maltese. The maltese's hair is much thicker and would look so full and she would have so many mats in her hair from rubbing on the towels and that could also cause breakage of her hair. Both are kept in full coat so to maintain it, it is better to blowdry it. I have a small table that they sit on while I dry them and they just lay there but once they are done they run around like mad dogs free of the dryer and ME! LOL

Actually I have a large "sink" about 24 inches deep and 2 foot square in my garage that I bath the dogs in and of course their is a nozzle just for washing dogs attached to the spout........it was the best thing I did when we built our house. It's deep enough for them to shake and not make a mess and the right height so I don't break my back. It makes giving them a bath so much easier. There is no "escaping" from me at bath time!!!:D
