Does the Angel Eye's product work? Also I have always feed my poodles science diet but I have noticed in other threads that NB is discussed. What is NB? Also what about the difference between a dry diet and a home made diet? Does everyone feed their malts vitamins?

Angel Eyes is one of the best products out there to help with the tear staining. But it is an antibiotic so you should wait until they are done teething before giving it to them.

NB is Natural Balance. It is an excellent dog food. I feed mine Canidae though, another high quality food.
Science Diet is not a very good food at all for them so if you make the switch it would be a big improvement.
I don't feed my dogs a raw diet as they get dog food but I know several do. It is suppose to be the healthiest for them, but only if you do it right. Sorry I can't help you to much with that one.

Angel Eyes has worked for many people but I wouldn't give it till your puppy is done with teething at about 9 or 10 months. NB is Natural Balance it's a very good food, there are many great foods out there sometimes you need to go through some to find the right one, NB is just perfect for Nemo!

A dry diet and a home made diet is all up to the owner and their preference

Some people do indeed give their babies vitamins, me, no I don't.
Like I said it's all up to the owner and their beliefs.
Good Luck,

I feed a homemade diet, Vinny hasn't had dog food since he was 10 weeks old and he is 3 years old now. I buy boneless/skinless chicken breast by the case, I am vegetarian and like that I don't have to handle it much, just throw it in a pan and bake or boil it. I occasionally use Missing Link as a supplement. I have used Angel's Glow, usually just in the spring when they get horrible weepy eyes and staining, I am guessing because of the grass. Vinny has had his tear ducts flushed and that isn't the problem, I know it has an antibiotic but its a mild one and it really helps him. I use it for about 2 or 3 weeks at a time not the 3 months they suggest. I just got a bottle of Angel's Eyes off of Ebay for 18.00 shipped so we will try that, I am confident that it will work the same.

I feed mine Natural Balance Duck/Potato and Nature's Variety Prairie Chicken. I will be adding the venison in a few weeks as well. I add all three into their daily feed along with cooked meat (beef/chicken).

I used the angel eyes for a short period of time but switched to tylan40 as it provides similar results and is cheaper. Also I agree with the rest of the gals, you do not want to give either the angel eyes/glow or tylan before they have their permanent teeth!!!!

I also have heard that Science Diet is not one of your better products......JMO.

.

Where do you get the tylan40? Also would science diet contribute to the tear staining. I have a little white teacup poodle and his stains are awful. I feel that it looks like I don't take care of him. Also have you heard of these products and what is your opinion? Bully sticks & Red Barn rolls

I got the tylan40 from the following website:

http://www.calvetsupply.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=1240

And look at the ingredients on the bag and see if there is any red dyes or red foods in it..........cranberries, beet pulp(red), etc.

If there are dyes or natural ingredients, perhaps it is the cause of the staining.........I also give the tylan to my yorkie as they excret red but it is harder to see due to their color but it has helped with his eyes as well.

Also, it is not something that you keep them on forever or do on a regular bases as the Tylan40 is also an antibiotic. You use it for a while and then you need to stop giving it to them.

Also, the vinegar in the water has helped with staining as well. As you can see Kallie has come a long way and it did not happen over night! I don't do the bullie sticks and not sure about the barn rolls because I could not see the ingredients but Natural Balance makes a roll very similar reasonably priced that you could serve up if you are looking for something like that. First off, please do not aplogize for asking questions. That's what we are all here for to ask questions and give answers and enjoy ourselves.

With that said: Kallie was more along the line of cottony but she is very very soft and not cottony to the touch like she use to be when her hair was 14 inches long. We adopted her at 2 years old and the previous owners had used the "bright white" shampoo on her every week which just about destroyed her hair so it has taken all of two years to get her hair in between silky and cottony. But it is wavey when cut and straight when left out long! But she has Lots and Lots of hair!

Please never appoligise for any questions you may have. You have started a wonderful thread. I myself have never used the Angel Eyes but just ordered some today. So I will also be very interested in this thread.

Carol your improvement with Kallie is like the improvement we had with our Bella Mia, it was STUNNINGLY noticable. And I was so thankful, coz she has a beautiful face for sure. I was so VERY impressed with Angle Eyes, I wrote to a magazine and sent them before and after photos and they printed them and told Bella's story.

About Natural Balance, we use it, the Ultra. That is the dry food I leave out for the dogs to snack on, between meals, cept Mr Wookie. I have him on the NV Instinct dry, the kibble is so much smaller.

I got a bottle of Tylan and my husband, helped himself to moving it and now I can't find it. I have NO clue what he did with it and he doesn't recall. THAT pissed me off! Some men. Poor Wookie never had tear staining but then out of the blue started when we were in Virginia in April and it's slowed down a lot but not gone away. I had his eyes checked and the Vet said as many may have heard, "this happens in white dogs, nothing medical wrong." OH boy.

enJOY!

I was not lucky enough to have met my MT buddies, so I gave AE to Zoe while she was still teething. I noticed a huge difference almost immediately (less than 2 weeks). The first picture is cute, but she had tear stains.

The second picture was taken after using AE for a few weeks (and I think the squinting is pretty funny too).

Also, if you submit before and after photos they can use on their website, you get a free bottle!

When we got Jack at 4 1/2 months he had the worst eye stains I had ever seen on a white dog. It went all the way down from his eyes to his mouth.
I got the Angel Eyes and it worked wonders.

I used Angel Eyes at five months old but I was putting Caira in the ring so the tearstains were bugging me, LOL! She is down to a few times a week but I still use it. I also use a product called IStain on her which helps her not tear up at shows, because her face would ALWAYS get wet when we went someplace new.
Here are some before and after pics
