Jools can jump on our bed without a doubt!
During the night he must jump off & go sleep on the floor or something but in recent weeks he has been scratching my arm (if it's hanging out the bed) or the bed for me to lift him back up:mad: he does this about 5 times during the night & i think the broken sleep is making me crabby & tired during the day:asleep:
Why does he need me to lift him up when i know he can jump up:confused:

Hmmm Princess Charlotte used to do that - until she realized it was JUMP or stay on the floor all night - PROBLEM SOLVED !!!! Yes I'm cruel - but it works . Sarah

Maybe he just isn't sure of himself during the night as to "where" it is safe to jump up on the bed..............If it just started recently, could he have maybe hurt himself and he's using caution when he jumps up but the jumping down doesn't bother him. I don't know, just some suggestions and thoughts for you.:)

Scrappy does that. But, Scrappy has never learnt to jump onto the bed.
I am no help sorry.
If the arm tapping doesn't work, he has this sort of mumble thing he does to try and wake me.
3 yrs down the track I can now lift him up in my sleep :D
I often think I should draw Scrappy directions to daddy's side of the bed :D

I have no advise at all except maybe put a ramp there so he can walk up. I know you said he can jump, guess he is to tired and can't be bothered. LOL
I can't stand having broken sleep, I get cranky also.
good luck, seems we both need, LOL

Thanks guys.
andrea you know i think thats exactly it, he is not in any pain & jumps on the bed any other time of day:confused:
I think if i had a ramp (would'nt get one over here unless hubby made one) he would still want me to lift him:tongue6:
You know what, i'm going to put an upside down toy box next to my bed to see if he will use it during the day today & then see what happens tonight. I'll let you all know.

I have the stairs next to our bed at night but not during the day. We have a very "high" bed and there is no way either of the kids could get up on the bed without the stairs. Toby can go up the stairs in a flash and down for that matter. Kallie refused to use them. I've even put her half way up and she stares at me like "get me off these things." So she refuses to use them........so we still pick her up and take her off the bed. Oh well. I'll try to take a pic so you can see them. They are really nice.....over $100 but since Toby uses them so much it was worth the $$$. They are made made out of plywood and then carpeted and has four steps. It may give you and idea of how they can be made. I'll try to do that today.

Bek, you can get stairs and ramps in Australia and strollers too if you want one :D I think in one of the links I posted in the dog products forum has them and I think the online shop is either in your state or in Sydney :D
Why do I know all this. Coz I am on a hunt for the same carseat Scrappy has and just know I will have to ship another from the States just like I did his but I keep searching Oz just in case I find one here.
I believe in miracles lol

I did find those last night Bren and I have sent them a question???, my bed is really high and I need to know the height of those steps, I know some places have the 4 step ones, but haven't seen those in Aussie. I am waiting for a reply. I think they charge around $24 postage which isn't to bad if I get the steps at a good price, one finishes soon so I am hoping to get a reply soon so I can bid.

They have heaps listed so you wont miss out and I like how they breakdown handy for storing or moving.
Someone once made them from foam blocks like from Clark Rubber and covered them I am thinking of doing that.

I think may work out really expensive bren, clark rubber isn't cheap ( it used to be) anymore, they charge so much and you will need some big blocks of foam. If you do look into it and get prices, please share cause if these steps are to short I may be looking at some other Ideas.

Elaine ~ I feel your pain with regards to the broken sleep. My Frankie would jump off the bed, but couldn't get back up. She would jump off and cry to get back up five or six times a night. Stairs solved the problem for me.
Now Miss Daisy is waking me up a few times each night. She potties outside, so here I am, at all hours of the night, taking the old girl out to do her business. It doesn't bother me; however, it does get to me after a few days of broken sleep.

what are they like Deb, they truly have us wrapped around their little paws:D but we wouldn't have it any other way.
I put the upside down toy box down for him last night & tried to show him how to get up it onto the bed & he looked at me like i was stupid & jumped straight up onto the bed. Little beggar:tongue5: but during the night i still got the arm scratched to get up:( guess i need to start making those stairs:D Power Tools here i come LOL

Elaine ~ I lucked out with the stairs in my bedroom. I don't know why these little ones are so picky (weird) when it comes to stairs. All of mine will use the "regular" stairs in the house. They would all use the stairs in my bedroom when they were at the foot of the bed. I moved them to the side of the bed (tired of tripping over them) and now only Frankie and Billy will use them.
Daisy won't use the one's in the bedroom, but she will use the ones leading to the sofa. Billy will also use the ones for the sofa. Frankie won't ~ LOL
Go figure :tongue6:

Funny, Max does the scratch scratch thing when he wants up also. If I am standing up doing something, he will do that on my leg so of course I just pick him, give him a kiss and cuddle then put him back down again.
Max can also jump onto my lounge, but doesn't he does the scratch scratch and I pick him up. If I put a piece of cheese on the lounge and show Max, yep he is up in a second, but if I am sitting there and tapping the lounge saying come on them, he looks at me like I am some kind of idiot. Unreal, LOL.
I don't have the bed problem as mine is really high and none can get on or off. I am sure if they could Max would do the scratch scratch thing to, LOL.
Good luck
