OK for those of you who live in the NORTH !

What can you recommend to keep Lizzie Rose warm when she has to
go out ?

Its in the 20's right now and she really doesnt mind, but its only going to get colder here.....I was thinking about a Jacket or something.

Do they have stuff to keep them warm ?

Something made of fleece would be good or Gortex ???

John I am not much help being that I live in Florida. But I do know that they make jackets with fleece. I am sure you will get plenty of idea's from everyone else. Sorry I am not much help.

If you can't find anything locally...........try Ebay for something warm to wear on Lizzie. I am sure if they do not have something of interest, we do have a few MT members that sew that might be able to help you out and make one for you............hopefully they will see this and post within a few days and if not I will PM her for you and see if she does anything like that.:)

You can just ask Mia's mom.............she is our shopaholic and can tell you where to get just about anything doggie clothes related!!!! We all have our specialties. Don't we Maggie?

Nemo hates clothes , but he will tolerate a sweater, they have so many cute ones around!

I like the pink one too! It just screams Lizzie Rose.

Be sure and check for mats tho. Leo has at least 3 big ones after being out and about in his jacket yesterday and he has short hair. And do NOT listen to anyone who may give you crap about dressing your dog :lol2: :lol2: My neighbor razzed me some, yet every time they went camping, she'd come over and grab one of Leos jackets for her dog.:blush: :blush:

Funny you should ask because we bought Zoe a coat just a couple of hours ago. It is like a ski vest, it's black on the outside and burbery (spelling?) on the inside with a detachable hood.

I have run into several doggy parents in Zoe's park over the last couple of weeks with smaller dogs wearing coats and one actually asked me where Zoe's coat was. So, I felt like a bad momma and I knew she needed one, so we went to a store called Bark and Fitz. I'm not sure if they are only in Canada (I don't think so), but their website is www.barkandfitz.com

We also looked at a fleece jacket too, but I think the coat we bought will be warmer.

:( OH thats bad!! The roads are ok here they are cleared pretty fast, but my Navigator just flies right into it and you don't feel a thing, the gas is a killer but this truck is like steel so snow is no problemo!!:D

On Friday, of course exactly the minute I took Zo zo for a walk, the snow started coming and it was SO WINDY. I was begging her to "Poop already" and right after she did, we ran back for the house. There was no accumulation, but we have wet flurries in tonight's forecast. FUN FUN ...not!

While I was at the store buying her jacket, there was a poor dog there who had many different jackets tried on and then he has matching "muttluks" (boots for dogs for people who live places warm enough not to need them). If the dog could talk, he would have asked me to help him. The owner might have a point about the muttluks though. Sophie used to stand on three feet when there was snow and ice on the ground. Hubby thinks not having the boots encourages the dog to "Poop already", but I don't know.

Yes I went a little crazy. I bought two one for Nicholaus and one for my new one. I also bought a dress and the cutest pink sweater. Sometimes ebay just sucks me in and I lose control.:wink:

John, I found some great coats at Target. Made by American Kennel Club. They are quilted and have the slit at the back of the neck for a lead to attach to a harness or collar. Good luck and have fun shopping.

I feel just a wee tad guilty with my 80+ temps..............I don't know how you do it!!!! We have not had a single freeze yet! Last year only two days of freeze lasting 8-10 hours.

We got about 5 inches overnight and still going strong.

I like the snow but when you have to mix it with the work thing it stinks !
You would think that everyone would know how to drive in it living in NE

But hell no....stupid is as stupid does.....I would like to be the only one on the road....I am an Anti social driver :)

John, you would love it here! The weather is great right now...........sunny and a little cool in the late evenings and early mornings (50s). I could never drive through all that snow, ice and slick roads...just another reason to stay put! Glad you made it to work safely.:)

I would love snow just for one day and that would be xmas day. :)

I have no clothes in the closet for the babes!!!! I would never use them. I haven't had the AC on for almost a week now, just open the door and keep it cool but by noon, have to close the doors and so far, saving on the electric bill!!!!! Then in the evening it cools back down and the door comes open. It's really been great weather here except for last night we had a horrible rain storm come through with high winds. Filled the pool up so saved some money there too!:lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

I will have access to a PC sometimes while I am in NC, but not like when I am at home. My brother has a great computer, but not my mom. I don't know how I could go cold turkey with my MT for a whole week. We are driving down tomorrow and will be headed back either the 28 or 29 (depending on the weather and degree of drama with my family:lol2: ).

Oh dear!:o :o :o :o It is usually humid here but it has been breezy so the humidity has been down, otherwise, I never leave the windows or doors open. Especially in the spring with all the pollen. Hubby has allergies but during the cooler days, it is not so bad.
