Oooooh Lookeee!
A Puppy Sale just in time for Christmas - how cool is that? :D
And teacups - puhlease.:(
And no tearstains - I wonder what the purchase contract says ;)
And a non-refundable deposit - what about own vet check? :scratchhd:
P.l.u.s. if you don't want a Maltese they also breed Dachshunds, Poodles, Shelties and Yorkies. Gosh! How very, very ...@#~*^
You've got to admit those props have a certain desparate, "trying too hard" look about them, too :lol2:
Great find, Andrea - needed a good laff this morning.:yay_jump:

There were definately a bunch of red flags that went up for me. A crying shame.
Maybe if we keep posting all that we come across it will save at least one family in the future. Thank you Andrea for this link.

Thanks for your responses!

yes, thats what I mean and who knows if they really are hers!!
You just don't know, all these horror stories of the pups arriving thin and sick and some even dead:( its horrible . I do understand how people buy from these sites they just don't know, I was one of them, so I cant get mad at someone who just didn't know:(

Well we cant blame people for getting dooped. I never even thought about them not being her dogs. OMG Harriett, you can be sooooo naive. And whats the thing with the papers. You have to pay extra for them. Well I think if you are buying a good quality puppy, you should have at least some history with it.

Yes E, I think they look nice. What should I be looking for if I ever see a puppy pic of a maltese. Now in saying that the puppys look nice. I dont think the adults are anything special, if you no what I mean. I have seen way nicer adult Malts here. Yours included of course.
I guess all puppys look cute.

One of the tips I was given when searching for a pup was to look at their feet for staining which could mean they have been held in less than sanitary conditions. The feet of the Pups for Sale are generally hidden behind the decoration but, given that they've all been bathed for their photo session, all the Dads and some of the Mums have stained feet. Not just dirty but stained. Some of the Mums clearly have stained faces that are not camouflaged well enough, despite the seller's Home Page claim of "carefully selected lines... for no tear staining".
I'm a Malt novice and I can't judge a pup from a photo so I would bow to Elaine's much more experienced eye but they are cheap as chips by UK standards for pet Malts and, possibly, by US standards - but don't quote me on that. I don't think I would even investigate getting one of these pups if they were for sale over here - pretty as they may look and, to my eye some, of them really do look pretty.

Lorriane I also notice that the adult had some staining. So much for her their breeding the stains out.
Does anyone no if this is even possible.

I dont know, maybe it's just me! I hate to see pups put on display like that with those boa feathers/bows/flowers/snowman stuff!
If i saw those pups on reputable breeders sites i'd start to think their breeding programme had slipped:fainted:
It all depends on what your looking for H, I like a nice head, square body, tail set & movement & offcourse coat! You should go to some shows in ireland to see what is on offer!

I don't like that either that stuff and to be honest I don't think I have seen it on reputable breeders sites , have you?
L made a good point on the staining aspect, I would have never thought of that:D

Elaine, h.e.l.p.
I thought these UK breeders were quite good/well regarded/successful at shows but would I be wasting my time or storing up trouble and expense for the future if I ask to go on their waiting lists?

I have to admit when you first look at the pics, you get smitten. They are lovely little malts but again............looks are deceiving sometimes and the problems that follow after purchase are so not worth the investment based only on looks as all of you have brought out in your comments.
Brandy is a perfect example as she has the stained feed and face but we knew what we were getting when we invested in a "rescue." But she has a wonderful personality!!! And the staining is slowly but surely being erased!:D

Dear Andrea,
On the job again, I see. GOOD FOR YOU!
When I first looked at those photos, the first thought I had was "Wizard of Claws".... and then I saw our "favorite" word, TEACUP.
I met a woman the other day and she said to me, "oh that is the cutest teacup I have ever seen"
I think the pups may be cute but her adults don't appeal to me at all.

Haha you probably know as well as i do that those are great UK breeders:p they are just not so up to date on their websites as the great US breeders!
Carol Hemsley(Abbyat) is the chair or sec of the Maltese club of England, i've had one conv with her while i was looking....seems very nice!
Carol Lees (lafford) have spoke with her on the phone once & met her at 2 shows...very nice also (heard she has a beautiful litter just now:wink5: )

Thanks, Elaine.
True - I *thought* they were great breeders ('cos they do go on about their greatness on their websites.;)) But I was put off by the "decorations" after what you said about breeding programmes slipping.
I'm not nearly ready for another one yet but it can't hurt to make initial contact to see if they would even consider selling me a pup in the future. I don't intend showing or breeding but I do hope they have pet quality pups... occasionally :D
