Elizabeth got me thinking...thanks:D
None of my furkids have them, but they have tattoos.
I was wondering should I also have them microchip just incase anything happen.
so they can be identify if they ever get lost.
how many of you here do have your furkids microchip?

I have had all of mine microchipped and when I travel I put a collar on them that has a tag with my cell phone on it.:)

My two are micro-chipped for what it may be worth.:( I don't know what it's like where you ladies sit, but in this country you cannot be sure that all chip readers can actually read all microchips. Crazy, I know... but I only found this out when I changed Vets, so mine also have tattoos. :) At least collars and ID tags, when outside, are "the law" now in England. :D

I actually decided to go for the microchipping from the thread about "Where does your furbaby travel in the car". I don't remember who was talking about it, but what would happen if you were in a wreck and your baby wandered off. We travel the road from here to NC and back a couple of times a year (850 miles one way) and I just feel better knowing the microchip is there (and now it is).
I am sure if you go to have it done, you will check before you leave.:D :D

Jack is micro chipped. Better to be safe than sorry.
I also have a picture of Jack in the glove compartment in a sealed plastic baggie. Just in case something happens, you have a photo ready to show the authorities what your pet looks like.

Bella came microchipped. Thank God. It is very useful with hurricanes and evacuations and all here in FL.

I dont hav mine done, but im going to. The only thing I think is wrong with it here is. If someone maybe steals a dog and happens to bring it to the vet, whats the chances of the vet scanning for a chip. That seems to be a big problem here. People getting there dog chiped, and the vets not doing scans to see if the person who is saying they are the onwer really are. But I now its a good thing if a lost dog is picked up.
Also what is invloved in getting them tattoos??

I agree and I need to get Wookie done, I just was waiting to see if he got any bigger. So it's off to the Vet soon.
Micro and Blackjack are both chipped.
enJOY!

From what I know, the Tattoos were done before Microchipping became so available to everyone.
