Poor Tucker had to go to the Vet today:( Apparently in the cold weather any little scratch can easily spread and become infected from getting wet from the snow and then itching and licking. The Vet said she's treated many dogs with this the past week after our snowfall. All told the cost was $225.00:eek: Brooke wrapped his neck up nice and snug with a scarf (mine) and he's gonna be fine :) tho tired at the moment:asleep: I can't believe he fit in Leo's crate.:lol2: :lol2: Me and Leo aren't gonna bother him there tho cause he had a rough day:hearter: :hearter:

Cathy, so sorry poor Tucker had a bad time. And I'm also sorry that you got hit with such a big vet bill!!!
Is Tucker your dog? I don't have a birthday for him:mad: and I would have included him on the Christmas card. Shame on you mommy.
He looks like a lovable little guy in Leo's crate.

Cheryl, I don't think I gave you Tuckers b-day cause we didn't have him yet...it's April 1st. Yes he's a April Fool's baby:hearter: :lol2:
Elizabeth, I've never heard of this before...have you experienced it before? I think it's from the collar rubbing too.

I have never had a dog that had it, but when I was at my vet with my previous dog, a lab/retriever mix was being treated for a raw area on the back of his neck that was aggravated by the cold. From where it was, I guess it could be from a collar.

Poor Tucker.........what an experience to go through and the expense! Never heard of that happening but new things are always popping up. Just glad he is ok and on the mend.
Sweet and tender licks from Kallie and Brandy..........platonic of course and a high five from Mr. Toby to Tucker. Hope he feels better soon!:hearter: :hearter:

Did you have to put him on antibiotics? Or just something topical?

Poor Tucker....Sending Hugs and Licks from Lizzie.
I had a Husky that had those types of irritations on his neck too.
I think it did have something to do with the collar rubbing and the skin being so dry from the cold temps.
