So, little miss zo zo will be attending Beginner Obedience classes starting January 20 for 8 weeks. They said that the first class is humans only, for theory and to go over some things prior to bringing in the dogs. I also have to have proof of her vacination at this class.
I have to buy a new leash because they don't allow the flexi kind, which is what zo zo has.
I am excited and think this will be a good thing, but I have to admit that I am afraid of the bigger dogs. I know the school teaching this class has work with all types, breeds, sizes...but I am still a little worried about it. Has anyone else had their Maltese in a class with big dogs.
BTW- The lady who was signing me up for the class asked if she was all Maltese or was she mixed with anything and I told her "Sometimes, she acts like she is part tazmanian devil" and she said not after this class.:lol2:

Well, I looked into classes for Toby and they are booked up until Feb.......so I am really bummed about it! So I'm going to look into one on one with a trainer to see about his fear and aggression.
I am sure Zoe will do just fine as long as mom is nearby!:D

Hey Elizabeth
We had Lizzie in a large class, there was about 15 dogs of all sizes.
All of the dogs were on leashes ALL of the time in our class, there were a few hunting dogs that were giving Lizzie the Eye....they may have thought she was a Bunny or something ! but none got close enough to hurt her that looked aggressive. That is probably one of the reasons for not having a Flexi leash in class. They didnt allow them in our class either....
You may get a surprise.....2 days before our class they called and asked for Lizzie to be the Demo dog.....I guess they thought being small and smart would be good for demonstration purposes.
It was good to have interaction with other dogs....Lizzie was like a social Butterfly and wanted to say hi to all of the other dogs.
They had a Malmute in another class across from us that was trained for Pulling weights, I heard he could move 2500 pounds by himself.
He weighed in at close to 150 pounds or better.....he was a gentle giant.
His head was double the size of the entire Lizzie....Bizzare !!!

That's great Elizabeth! The only one of mine that I ever took to class was my German Shepherd, Max. There were 2 small dogs in that class. Like John said, all were on leashes. I betcha Zoe will be the cutest doggy there.:hearter: and I know she'll do great!

Good luck with the schooling. Jack has been through 3 classes, but sometimes he is just plain naughty!!!! He knows his time out place and doesn't give me any lip about it.
You'll always use your training....it's a constant learning process...for you and the dog.
Jack had Rotties, Jack Russels, Puggles, Labadoddles, Doxies, and others in his many classes. Of course Jack was the class clown and kept everyone entertained.

Yesterday was crazy. It was Marco's Christmas party and I had an appointment that morning for a manicure (I get one and year and this is it-she went red this year because my dress was black and silver and it is strange seeing it today), then we had to go nback where Marco got is new Jacket because we forgot to get the pocketsquare that went with the tie, we went for breakfast, the band that played were friends of ours and Marco went to help set up, I had a haircut (that and styling takes 2 hours because I have alot of hair)..and then, Marco was the emcee, so we had to be there early. The party was nice, the band was great as usual...but the drunk dancers...Man, I have a couple I have to tell you about.
The first one is a very strange woman who I would guess is late forties..she was wearing a lace shirt over a camiosole and NO BRA and pants that were light beige, 2 sizes too small...and she has 80's hair and too much makeup. As the night went on and she got more and more drunk, the lace top came oof, she started bouncing around (did I mention no bra?) and then, to make things even more interesting...she took these two label pins that everyone ot when we entered...well, they were held on by magnets and had flashing lights...she stuffed them down her pants...so picture if you will a crazy looking drunk woman, BOUNCING all over the place and her crotch is flashing different colors!!! I resisted taking a picture, but now I wish I had so you guys could see it!!!:lol2: :lol2:

I know...it's just too funny. I was asking Marco on the way in this morning about whether or not she would show up at work today or just be too embarrassed (for all we know, she may not remember it at all).
