I am sooo frustrated. everytime my husband leaves the room then returns the dogs bark. They do not bark long but only enough to alert me but why?? The problem is I work nights and he works days. If I am sleeping and the dogs are in my room and he comes upstairs they go nuts barking and wake me up. They love to sleep on the pillow beside me or by me and they bark right near my ear. We tried putting them downstairs but they cry because they are not with me. I have my husband trying to train the pups walk them feed them anything yet they still bark. Can anyone help?

Nemo also barks when someone leaves and he offers them his Ducky:lol2: :lol2: only family though. I think it's just a little "We don't want u to go" bark. I see alot of that in Nemo, if it's only short and not on going I wouldn't be to concerned, but if it's really bothering you then I would look into some training ideas!

Retrain the hubby to walk lightly!..............Just kidding. Mine do the same. If I am first in bed, the dogs go with me and when hubby comes to bed, they bark at him. Guess they are either glad to see him or giving a warning bark that he has entered the room. Sorry, don't know what to say. Barking is part of their make-up.

I have tried retraining hubby but it worked about as well on him as it did on Macy. Barking does seem to be the one thing about Macy that is a problem but all the good by far out weighs the bark.

Sounds to me that we are all in the same boat. Our dogs bark if anyone opens a door, or if anyone walks into my bedroom. They don't bark long, but just enough to be bothersome. Sir Micro is the big barker, he will bark until my husband barks back at him, in a loud booming voice that by that time unnerves me.

Good luck to us all,
Melanie

Our situations are the same. Adam works nights and I work days. When I walk in the room and they aren't expecting me, they'll bark at me and vice versa with him. I think they do it more with him though and I think it starts as a "Get away from here" then a "YAY YOUR BACK!" I don't know what to tell you cause we're in the same boat!

I think the problem is just the nature of the beast!!! Dogs bark as a part of communication...........:D At least none of us are suffering along and have a lot of sympathy from our members with similar problems.
