Hey!!!! Calling all MT members!!!! I know that we are all so busy with the upcoming Christmas holiday, but I thought it might be fun to have a cookie exchange.
Just give one of your favorite, easy cookie recipes for all to enjoy.
:turtle: *TURTLE POPPERS*:turtle:
Snyder's Snaps pretzels (they are the regular flavor, not the buttery kind, and the pretzels are small and square shape)
Rollo candies (buy them by the bag. If you can't find them, try any chewy chocolate candy that has caramel inside)
Pecan halves
Preheat oven to 250 degrees. I use parchment paper on the cookie sheets but you don't have to. It just makes clean up easier.
Place pretzels on cookie sheet, place one Rollo candy on top (make sure you take the wrapper off:lol2: :lol2: ) and put in oven for 5 minutes.
Take out after 5 minutes and place one pecan half on top and gently push down into Rollo.
Let cool on cookie sheet. Remove to plate:plate: or just start 'popping' them into your mouth!!
I put the cookie sheets in the frig for a little bit to help with cooling off faster.
Enjoy!

Here is an authentically Australian biscuit recipe..... downunder we call cookies biscuits :)
ANZAC BISCUITS
if you google anzac biscuits you will find the origin behind the name
3/4 cup rolled oats, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/4 cup desiccated coconut, 3/4 cup plain flour, 2 tablespoons Golden Syrup, 1 teaspoon Bi-carb of Soda, 2 tablespoons boiling water, 1/2 cup melted butter.
Pre-warm oven to 160C (325F)
Spray oven trays (cookie sheets) lightly with oil.
Mix oats, sugar, coconut and flour.
Mix Golden syrup, soda and boiling water, while frothing add melted butter, pour into dry ingredients and mix well.
Drop spoonfuls of the mix onto greased oven trays, allowing room for them to spread.
Bake for 15 - 18 minutes until golden.
They will come out of the oven soft, but will harden on cooling.
Cool on a wire rack.
Makes about 30.
This is the melt and mix method, and they are delicious!

Nuggets of Joy
Ingred: 1 bag milky way milk chocolate covered caramels
1 18 oz roll refrigerated sugar cookies dough
1/4 cup cocoa powder
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup flour
1 cup ground pecans
1 cup confectioner's sugar
2 non-stick cookie sheets
Preparation: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Unwrap 18 milky way chocolate covered caramels and set aside. Combine the cookie dough, flour, cocoa powder, pecans and cinnamon and knead until smooth. Divide the dough into 36 pieces, each about the diameter of a quarter. Cut the caramels in half and tuck one piece into the center of each piece of cookie dough. Roll the dough into balls, completely covering the candy. Place the balls on a non-stick cookie sheet and bake for 15-17 minutes. Roll the warm cookies in confectioner's sugar to coat them and serve. Makes 36 nuggets!
