Not to good in this area, but I wouldn't go digging in there to get it out. Maybe just wipe around the outer area of the inner ear for now.
Becky (zeek'smom) is good at this stuff, hopefully she will be on later.
Do you have an emergency clinic you can call in the mean time?
Good luck.

It sounds like a yeast infection or ear mites - NEITHER are good - so off to the Vet for you .Sarah

Do you have hydrogen proxide? You may want to clean out his ear with a cotton ball if you can.

Macy on occasion gets some gunky stuff in only 1 ear and I use hydrogen peroxide to clean it sometimes they will get some long ear hair in the canal of the ear and it will get yucky. I try to keep my 3 guys ears plucked that helps. Keep us posted.

meeko has a yeast infection in his left ear. i have to give him drops once a day for 10 days. they said he has a lot of hair in his ears. i was leaving it to the groomer but i will have to pluck it more often. thankfully it wasnt anything serious. geri

So glad it is a "fixable" problem. He should be feeling a lot better with the infection gone. It's not hard to pluck the hair but you do have to be careful and only get the canal hair and using a little ear powder (I use R-7 Ear Powder) can help...............just glad Meeko is going to be ok.
