Candles

I need someones advice this is stupid but its getting on my nerves...
usually i lit a lot of candles, febreeze, airfreshners, plugins, yes my house smells GREAT! and it always does (sometimes)
anyways! i have these fat candles I LOVE THEM
but why is it burning only around the wick so the edges dont even get burn and now its such a waste;.... is there a way to make it all burn? or NO?
am i being dumb! sorry its been on my mind for weeks now

Jadey did u trim the wick, before you lit it?:D

i did do that! its not spreading when the candle melts :(
