I want them both. Marco is leary of their age and the housebreaking thing, but that could be a medical condition.
I shouldn't have looked. What do you guys think??

Honestly Elizabeth if I had to chose I would chose Vaner just because of the "getting along" with other dogs. Pistache says good with certain dogs and you don't want to take that chance that Zo is not that certain dog. The potty training issue I personally believe Yorkies are harder to train then Malts so you may want to think about inside pee pad training unless you are home all day.

It's funny Maggie...I was leaning towards Vaner too. The people at the shelter said they require you to bring in your existing dog to meet the possible adoptee at their facility.
We started Zo zo with the pee pads when she was little and I still have some left. We leave home before 7:00 am and I get home between 4:00-4:30 depending on my day.

He is so big, they do a property check before allowing the adoption!!
(I am afraid he may eat my cockatoo:wink5: )

They are both adorable..........BUT..........and this if just being honest and straight foward with you, I thik Zo zo needs a younger playmate. She is such a happy and zesty little thing that I think introducing an older dog at this point, Zo zo would not get the full benefit of a companion. I think you might be disappointed too. AND you know I am all for adopting/rescuing as I have two rescues myself. But the age really concerns me as Zo zo needs a "Lizzie" or another Zo zo in he life. This is of course JMO. I know your heart is reaching out but you do have Zo zo's needs to consider as well as Marco's thoughts. But whatever you decide, we will all back you up 100%.:)

Thanks for your honest and loving opinion Carol. :hearter: I was really curious what you thought of these two girls.
Marco just told me he didn't think he could go down the old dog road with the loss of Sophie still so fresh in his mind. I also agree with you that Zo zo needs a Lizzie (think John will send her my way??) because she is so high energy. And she is still a puppy. It feels like she has been my dog forever, but she is only about 8 months old now.
I still think a rescue is a great idea. It was just the sweet faces. I wish I was super weathly and had all the free time in the world because I would adopt and love dogs for the rest of my life. I do have the relief of knowing they will get a home because adoption agencies in this area are non-kill. Just maybe not a home with a Marco and Zo zo and Peanut and mom who would love them like me:wink5:

While I don't think John will send you Lizzie, he, on the other hand, I am almost 100% sure he might just love to have your Zo zo for a companion for Lizzie!:p :p :p :p
I personally could not adopt a dog over the age of 5 years old as there is not any way of telling how much longer you have with them and like yourself, my dogs are my world. It just does not give me the needed time to share my life with them only to lose them in maybe 5-7 years. It sounds like a long time; but time goes by very swiftly. Kallie is already 5 1/2 years old and my last baby died at 12 1/2 years old. I dread when the day comes with the three lovelies that I have................the day that I have to say good-bye but at least I know they have had a wonderful and full life. Kallie was 2 1/2 years old, Toby six months and a "guess" that Brandy is two when we adopted them.
