I haven't gone through any old threads to see if this has been brought up already, so sorry if this is a repeat.
I have tried quite a few different brands, although it is hard to get my hands on them, especially in the winter months, they wont ship to the Great White North because of freezing. When Vinny was younger I did try the Bless the Beast shampoo, I did like it then and wish I could get a hold of some now. I have been through the C.C. line, it was just ok for me. I did not like the Groomers Edge line. I use the Pantene Ice conditioner, not the shampoo though, I thought it made them matt. Best Shot Ultra-Wash and Ultra-Plenish is unbelievable, I love it, although I don't care for the Lemon-aid. The best conditioner for moisturizing I think is Nature's Specialties Re-Moisturizer, unfortunately I can't find it anywhere. I did buy the N.S. Silk n Finish spray, I love it, but make sure you cover your surface and brushes, it makes everything slippery. I have heard only good things about Cowboy Magic, I would love to try it, can't find anyone in Ontario that carries/ships it.

Did you say Cowboy Magic???? Funny, I just received my two bottles of shampoo and conditoner, already had the detangler and shine. So can't say yet if I like them as I have not used them. :tounge: :tounge:
I like Bless the Beast products and Coat Handler products.......But I always seem to go back to the Coat Handler leave-in conditioner. I think it works wonders on the coat and really makes an after bath comb out easier. I have used the Ice on Ice CC product but find that it is not any better than my mixture of water/cowboy magic detangler/shine product. JMO

I think it's great to provide your experience with products. Now for me I use Perfect coat, white pearl shampoo and conditioner (all in one) by Eight in One Pet products which I purchased at our local pet store. I condition with John Frieda, Frizz-Ease leave on conditioner for humans. I need to find something that will magically take out matts or at least let me cruise thru them like butter.:D :D

Cathy, try the Best Shot Ultra-Wash and Ultra-Plenish, I use it on my 3 adults with 3 different coat types. My sister has Persian cats (7, all rescues) she brought one over, I bathed her and the matts blew right out with the hair dryer.

I do not know if you get the Human Product Garnier Fructis up there. But I myself love everything that I have tried that they have. I am growing two show coats and am using the Conditioning Glaze Sleek & Shine Sheer and also Sleek & Shine Anti-Humidity Styling Cream Long Lasting Hold & Shine. I am getting excellent results with the two. I have tried every human and dog shampoo under the sun and unless I am trying to brighten the coat I always fall back on the Garnier Brand. My mentor told me about the line and we have since tried just about everything that they carry. The one thing you do have to remember is what works for one coat my be terrible with the next. I do want to add that when you use the shampoo and conditioner you want to mix 1 part product to 10 parts water. If not the PH Balance will dry the skin out.
I am attaching two coats that I have mentioned. I hope this helps.

This isn't very fancy, but I like the results--Johnson's Baby Shampoo & Conditioner in one, no tears of course. Great smell, doesn't dry or irritate, mild, you can trust the quality control of the product (as much as you can trust anything these days anyway).

I use the Bless the Beasts shampoo and conditioner (shipping was long, but possible) and I LOVE it. There is a site called Needs and Things that have a Canadian and a US site and that is where I got Ice on Ice (which is also a CC product) so maybe we can get cowboy magic there too. I will post the link later if you like.

I ordered on a Monday and had it by Thursday,
I don't see cowboy magic on the site, but Ice on Ice is there and so is Silk Spirits (which is the next thing I am going to try). There are all types of shampoos too.:D

Beautiful hair they both have! But that first photo is just blinding! You could see the softness through the screen. Beautiful!

Here is the post for the Bless the Beast products. To ship to Canada, you select the $10 charge to ship to Canada. It took almost 8 weeks for me to get it and the phone number didn;t work from Canada, but the email does work. The prices are very reasonable and I have seen a big difference in Zoe's coat since I started using this.

Aha! I found this on their site (unless I have the wrong kind of Cowboy Magic..is this stuff for horses too guys??)
What do you know, there is a store in Ottawa too. I didn't see on in Toronto, but you can check and see if there is another one near you. You can also call 1-800-755-6844 to find the store nearest you.
I may give this stuff a try too. If I do, can someone who has used it tell me what I should get (keeping in mind Zo zo is still a puppy). Thanks

Well, you are right it is the stuff for horses!!!!;)
I have been using the concentrated Detangler & Shine for over a year now and I simply dilute it with water and use it with the kids daily brush out. It really has a nice fragrance and works well on mats if applied full strength to the mat and let set for a bit.
I just got the shampoo and conditioner the other day so I have not used it yet but as soon as I do, I will write a review on it. So if you want to wait until I can use it (the next day or so), I can let you know more about what I think compared to some of the other products I have used.
But I would recommend the Detangler and Shine.........love the smell and shine it leaves.:)

Sounds good Carol. I still have plenty of Bless the Beast left, so I am in no hurry (and I am thrilled that if I like Cowboy magic, the store is right down the road from our house. Marco passes by the Apple Sadlery every day going to and from work-though he doesn't get nearly as excited about this stuff as I do. He said Zoe has more stuff for her hair than you do..true...and her brush cost a lot more than any of mine:D )

... my mixture of water/cowboy magic detangler/shine product...
Being under strict instructions about allowing Pip to grow to full coat ;) I thought I'd try that for his groom today instead of Ice on Ice... BUT I could not get Cowboy Magic Detangler and Shine to mix with the water. Because it's greasy/oily, all I got were globules of CM floating on top of the water in the spray bottle. :(
I know I'm probably missing some vital info/technique here :o but what's the secret to getting water and CM to mix, please, Carol? :D

I also added a little conditioner, don't know if that made the difference or not but then SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE ........... AND..........SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE SHAKE .....in between sprays. I've never had a problem with it separating.
It reminds me a little of Petsilk's Liquid Silk............again I use it and dilute it with water.

But maybe it's the conditioner that cuts through the greasiness - I'll try again tomorrow, thanks :D

I use more water than the cowboy magic as well and just about a teaspoon of conditioner...........guess it depends on how "big" or how "small" your spray bottle is.:D :D :D ............and I always rinse my sprayer after I am finished as it does tend to clog! Just another helpful hint.

I love the Bless the Beast products too and highly recommend them. The one thing I didn't expect was how concentrated the shampoo and conditioner was. Just a little FYI for the first time you try it. Start with a little and add. :D
i love blessthebeast. Its a great shampoo and conditioner. i used to use it a lot before but i recently stopped. i couldnt stand how after 3 days my furkids coat seems to get dirty quickly. my kids dont go outside at all.
so now... i have been using cc day by day shampoo, and the spa conditioner (the nourishing).

Now seeing that I didn't order any whitening shampoo I'm thinking of picking up some blueing tint (for humans). Its not a dye just a rinse I think. My breeder friend uses a couple drops in the shampoo for whitening. Anyone else heard of this?

Yep, I've heard of it too! I think it to be a whitener type rinse but you are correct, it is not a dye. Check the ingredients/lable/etc. In the meantime, I will try to find where I read about it and post it!:D

Found this tidbit:
A blue rinse is a dilute hair dye used to reduce the yellowed (or translucent, showing scalp colour) appearance of greying hair on older women. The blue rinse supposedly makes yellow-white hair appear blue-white, but an inexpertly applied blue rinse will leave a distinctly unnatural tinge behind.

Did you look in the "laundry detergent" section at your local grocery store??? I am almost certain that I have seen it..........but next time I go to the store, I'll look extra hard! I have the laundry blueing stuff. I'm just scared to turn him blue with it. Leo is not a bright white which you can really see when he's sitting next to Kitty who is. Leo has a penchant for dirt which I'm unable to remove entirely especially in the summer AND we have rust in our water so I like to use a whitener.:wink5:

So just use a little of it in the inside of his leg and see what happens, can't be any worse than the huge chunk of hair you had to cut out before.:p :p :p It is probably one of those things that will be "trial and error" unless someone can give you some additional input on the use of it. I thought the laundry blueing stuff was what you were looking for. What other blueing whitener is there?  Brandy was "yellowish" when she arrived and I have used the whitening shampoo on her once a month. She is a dull white but no yellow.........the foot stains are almost gone too!! YAY YAY But when I do the whitening shampoo, I use a rinse out conditoner and also a leave-in conditioner to keep from damaging the hair! :)

It's a rinse/tint that women with gray hair would use to add a blue tint and because it's made for hair I would think it would be better. What whitening shampoo do you use? :D
