I have really spent a lot of money (a truly good investment) on CC brushes and combs lately. My question is, what do you use to clean them with?

I don't want to ruin them:( :( :( but I want them to stay clean. Any suggestions on safe cleaners you have used on your CC brushes?????

I have no idea. I take the hair out of the brush every time I use it, but I have never washed it.

I am subbing to this thread to find out the answer..

I know I wash my brush (as in for me) with shampoo, but it doesn't have a wooden handle...Does it say anything on the CC website??

No, but I did shoot them an email but then spotted the 1-800-6547006(USA) or 903-389-9125 (Canada) to call with questions.

She told me to use a mild dish washing detergent and swish the brush through and then to blow dry it completely dry. Then she also told me that they have a "special" brush for cleaning the fusion/gold series brushes for $20 (A900) w/ $8.00 shipping charge. I decided to go the dishwashing route for now. But she said the special brush cleans out the hair, the pins and the base the pins are attached to and can be run through the brushes vertically or horizontally!!!

not a gd idea to wash CC brushes too often. I ruin 2 even though I have blown dry them. They just rust!

I noe some salon have a small UV box to kill bacteria in between clients so if your local hardware store stocks them, you can get 1 for your dog's brushes as well.

WOW Carol, I had never thought of this issue. Thanks for bringing it up. Since I use our brushes maybe about 5 % of the time and the combs so MUCH more I guess our brushes never needed anything other then the hair pulled out of it. HMMMM now I wonder.

Thanks for letting us know what CC said.

Your Welcome! I am going to be ordering the tool I mentioned in a previous post to clean them as I do not want them to rust. I'll let you know how it works and if it is worth the $$!!!

I never really thought about washing them. I do take out the hair and run it under warm water. But this is a great post!

Carol I don't have the CC brush (I returned it) but I do have two Madan brushes and I just stick them under running water, use shampoo on my finger tips and run my fingers down the rows between the pins. Then rinse good. You can then turn the brush unside down and again put your fingers between the pins and press the cushion base in. If there is any water trapped inside it will drip out of the air holes in the cushion base. Then I lay the brush on a towel to dry.

I always wash Sassy's combs and brushes when I shampoo her.

Thanks!!! I love my CC brushes (fusion series) but also have the Madan brush in blue and purple. What colors do you have ???? Oh and I never bought the brush cleaner tool from them, just wash and blow dry them using mild soap and rinse well.

After spending a lot of money on several CC brushes... I don't even use them now since I got the Madan brush. It works so well on my two!!!

So I take it you like the Madan brushes better than the CC brushes. I can't say I like them better but I like them as well. And let's not talk about the money for the CC brushes:o:o:o.......I have all fusion but I do like them as well as the Madan. Especially the narrow and the small toy one for around difficult areas.

Yes, I do like the Madan brush better than the CC brushes. They just seem to penetrate the coat better better. I have that toy brush too and I do still use it for hard to reach areas.

I use shampoo or the Show Off. Before and after, I use the end of the rattail comb to slide through the bristle lines to remove the hair. I wash like this before baths. In between, I use white vinegar in a spray bottle.
