Not really... Another of her phantom pregnancies - but very real to her. So it's a few nights of her racing up and down stairs, squeaking loudly, while she carries all her "puppies" back to the "whelping box", aka Pip's bed, tucks them in very carefully then lies right on top of them.:lol2:

She is a good Mum, though...

Aren't my babies beautiful, everyone?

This happens after every season. I used to worry terribly but the Vet said "Don't... you'll just have to put up with her nocturnal wanderings." :p
Daisy can't be spayed (long medical story) so I have to be very vigilant for the first signs of pyometra. She's just turned 9 years old and is still firing on all cylinders, thank goodness. :D

Poor baby she wants to be a Mommy so bad. Can you give her some ice cream and pickles? :lol2: :lol2: I'm glad you are understanding and can indulge her. I feel bad for her.:o

Awww, Lorraine, that is soooo touching and yet sad!:( :( :( Daisy does look like she is guarding her little ones. I bet she would have made a great mom had she had pups! Poor thing, how often does she come into heat?

Every 6 months, Carol - as regular as clockwork.:)
They last from 10 - 14 nights, Laurie. Daytime is quite different, though - that's when Daisy and Pip play fetch or tug o' war with the "puppies" :lol2:
Oh and Daisy says to thank the kind lady who suggested ice cream but she'll pass on the pickles, hoping you don't mind :D

Lorraine that poor baby. I have had that happen after a mom has lost her baby during birth. It is a very sad sight. I know it is hard on you and her. How long after her cycle does this happen??

It happens about 9 weeks later, Becky - just about right for a gestation period, I'm given to understand.

I don't feel nearly as sad about it as I did. I've had her for 8 years now so I'm getting used to it - she never seems overly concerned or unhappy though. Just a bit fussy, digging the carpet etc and squeaky - very squeaky when she's on the round up :D

She had an "episode" just after Pip came and I thought ut-oh, but she just ignored him and went about her maternal duties.

Well, it just melts my heart to see her in such a loving way towards her "hairless pups."..............she must be the most loving little girl to be that dedicated!!!!
