I was wondering... been shopping everywhere. I planned on driving to florida but we think its better to go on plane not sure.
I never took the kids on plane before, just curious if anyone here has?
And if so what carrier did you use?

I never have flown with any of mine Jadey so don't really know. But my son did with his jack russell and just had a small carrier that he put her in and then had to put her in the carrier on the floor of the plane between his legs during the flight. He said he wouldn't do that again! Of course, Abbey has since passed. Just remember, the weather does get better the further South you go and driving with the fluffbutts is not really that bad.........it is actually my preference!:D :D :D :D

I know there have been some members that have flown with their fluffbutts so hopefully they will give you an idea about it.

We have flown several times with Mr Wookie. And I have used different carriers every time. What you need to keep in mind first, is to check with the airline you plan to fly and find out what they say you need.

The two airlines I flew told us that the carrier must close completely, be softsided and have ventilation on three sides, and be able to fit completely under the seat. They did give me a measurement but I don't recall what it was.

Where in Florida are you coming to?

im looking into airtran~ they said I can bring up to 3 pets :D
they have nonstop flights too!

Orlando is where we are going!

Have you tried the sherpa melanie? Its a 2 hour flight so I think it will be okay.

I did AirTran too late last year and they were pretty good. Just make sure you check out the dimensions on their site so you can have the carrier fit under the seat in front of you.

I got this from their website:

The pet kennel is limited to maximum dimensions of 8.5" high x 17" long x 12" wide.

I probably would get a soft carrier Jadey, it was easier to place under the seat.

So bag size is important because it has to fit under the seat in front of you???? Well if Jadey is taking three dogs, how does that work?????

Yes I have used a Sherpa, that was our first flight. It worked.

And yes, you are correct, Florida is a HUGE state for sure. Going from here to the Brooksville show and back, I put almost 600 miles on my SUV. And there still would have been a whole lot of state to go to get out of Florida.
