Flea Control

What do you all use for flea control? I live is So. Calif and the fleas are terrible here most of the year. I use Advantage on the other dog I have but I am afraid it will stain the maltese's coat. So what do you all use?

I use Revolution on my Maltese (which is similiar to Advantage or Frontline) and it doesn't leave any stains at all.

We're Frontliners here. The coat looks a bit greasy or even stained when you first put it on but it comes out with the next bath.

I never use anything but we do not have a flea problem anymore. We have a plush lawn and it is also treated for fleas! I had a flea problem a few months ago but found out that our lawn company had stopped putting down stuff for the fleas. Well, they came back out in two days, sprayed the lawn, I bathed the dogs and have not had any fleas since. But if you are having a flea problem then I would go with some of the suggestions by the previous members who posted.

We used frontline... now we are on Advantix... but we are going back on Frontline... but... decided to try revolution next time when my heartworm meds are done :D

I use Frontline for LB. It does make her hair a bit greasy, but I usually put it on her about 2 days before her bath. No problems with fleas so far.

We use Revolution on Jack. Never had a problem so far, been using it for years, with our 1st Maltese and now Jack.
