What can we do to advertise this site? I would sure like this site to be as active as YT. We can't exactly go to other Maltese forums and advertise there :p I will definately mention it to anyone who orders something from me that has a maltese. But what else can help this site grow? Unfortunately I do not know of anyone around me who even owns a maltese.

Basically a forum grows through word of mouth, and having good members. So we're off to a great start already, the more posts/pictures/stories we have, the better off we are at attracting more people and gaining new members.

Getting onto Google takes time, but the best bet for now is to tell Maltese website owners (non forum ones) that we are here and we welcome them with open arms. If you have a Web site, add a link to MalteseTalk. If you see anyone out and about with a Maltese, tell them about MalteseTalk. Just spread the word, as much as you can. That's what we're planing on doing this week! :) The hardest part of a new forum is putting hard work and your faith in it initially, with the hopes that the members will come in the long-run...

Also, content is king, so any Maltese information you can write or have permission to post will help us in the long-term. Forums can be a bit tricky to get going, but once they do, it's like a snowball rolling down a mountain! :p

Also any exisiting members need to keep posting...people lose interest if theres no action. We all need to make an effort to post. I personally do not know anyone with a maltese other than forum friends. But if I see one out in there...I'll tell them about MT.

If you have any feature articles you'd like to write on Malteses, let us know!

I have emailed people that I know that have Maltese. In fact, 2 have become members. I also emailed my vet's office about both Yorkie and MalteseTalk. I'm about to email a groomer that I know. I'm trying to do my part.

Okay, I just sent an email to the groomer (that would be your groomer Cathy Lambert [Lucille]...haha) and I also sent emails to two friends. One friend in GA and another in NY. I'll keep my thinking cap on as to others who might be interested.

Great job, Sassy's Mommy! Just getting the word out (every little bit) can help! :)

We just need more Maltese owners and more Maltese fans! :p

I have recommended it to all who have my Maltese.
I emailed all the owners of my Maltese babies and I give out information packages with my puppies, so I added the Maltese talk link as a recommended site to all new Maltese owners. I think the friendly atmosphere is very nice as well as the sharing of information.

Great! I have been telling people that I see with a Maltese, too (petco patrons, etc). I feel like a little hawk though :)
