Just curious to see if anyone has used Petsmart for puppy training.. If so what did you think?

I can't help you with this but I am about to put Toby in obedience classes March 5th with a private training center. I have heard some good and some bad.............but that comes with all places depending on the instructor. A lot of the success is tied to the amount of time YOU are willing to put into the training as well!

Like Carol said, I've heard some good and some bad.

I'd watch a class just to see how the instructor
interacts with the whole class and maybe talk to
some of the members in the class and to the
instructor just to get a feel. I hope it works
out for you.:)

thanks! I haven't been there when the classes are in sesssion. There is another place that is close by the house. I think I will go by there to see if maybe I can catch a class in session first. Petsmart is a long drive from my house. I was thinking of going there first since it was a larger chain and well known place.

I take LB to PetSmart for grooming, I finally found
a groomer that LB and I like. But, I take her to
VetCo (PetCo) for her shots and checkups. It's
cheaper and the office staff nicer. Luckily, they
are both close to where I live.

Sometimes it's a hit or miss in those places. I think
it just depends on the people who work there.

We looked into enrolling Zoe at Petsmart, but I started asking other dog owners, my groomer and vet who they would recommend and I heard the school she is enrolled in almost all the time. I wish I had enrolled her earlier too.

The one thing I did on my own before enrolling her was whenever she went outside to "potty", I have one special treat that I only use for that (it is actually kibble other than her normal food) and she could only get it when she was sitting. I started this almost right away and I was grateful once I started the formal training. JMHO
