Don't know if any of you have tried this, but I am going to use this on my dogs this spring/summer. www.fleatreat.com. I just can't continue to put poison in their little bodies - it really bothers me to do it knowing the potential risks now and down the road. I will also be trying essential oil sprays.:)
oops. spelled product wrong. I'm not sure what produck is - maybe that is a product somewhere, too. :)

It sounds very interesting and a good way to protect from fleas! I have nevered used the liquid flea chemicals that goes between the shoulders until two months ago because we never had fleas. Then I found out the lawn company that cares for the health of our yard had stopped with the pesticides. So we decided to change lawn services that "would" put pesticide down every time and also the flea prevention meds. Well Brandy was like really allergic to it and became red and itchy within less than four hours and we had to bath her immediately. Tob was fine with it.......he's a 'tuff' yorkie!!!:) Kallie was a little bothered and started scratching within about 8 hours so she got a bath as well. We are hoping that our yard with the treatments and the daily brushing and watchfull eyes of mommy will keep the fleas away. BUT I think this would be a great alternative "IF" it worked and "IF" it did not cause any other issues (sensitive stomach, allergy, etc).
Thanks for posting!!!
Oh and Teri...........I am a pro duck advocate too! (laughing myself silly)

I got it in the mail a few days ago. I'm not starting them on it yet but I gave them each one to see what they thought of the tabs. They loved them - thought they were a treat.:)
Brea had a horrible reaction to one of the topical flea products last year. I had to take her to the vet. She lost a bunch of hair around where I put the junk on her and some other symptoms. Oh - it was Bio Spot. After that episode, I found out that there were A LOT of people that had pets with horrid reactions to it. The vet told me she would never recommend that brand.
So I used another one after a while, but I just don't like using them. I mean, I sure as heck wouldn't put something like that on ME, why would I put it on a tiny dog????? JMO:)
It's mostly vitamins and other "natural" stuff, so hopefully it won't cause any allergic reactions.
Yep, pro duck... that's what I meant. :p :p :o :lol2:

I think the flea situation in Florida is at its worse!!! I am getting my yard sprayed every six weeks now!!! When will it end. My situation has improved and I'm only finding one or two fleas in between baths.......plus the vaccuming every other day! It's wearing me out!

Aren't they horrid? Several years ago we had a flea infestation. It was at our old house with a different dog. It was so bad that I was getting bitten and going crazy with the itching.
We ended up "bombing" the house a couple of times and using dips for the dog, etc.... it just seemed to go on and on.
We haven't had any problems since living here for 9 years... I hope it continues.
Maybe I'm just such a sour old lady that they all stay away!!:D :lol2:

Fleas are such annoying little buggers!!!!
But things are getting much better with the lawn service now treating every six weeks and of course the other stuff I mentioned in my previous post. I am just glad that we do not have a tick problem. Now THAT would freak me out...............they are really really gross creatures.   I found one tick on Kallie when we were bringing her home when we first adopted her after we had made a pit stop at a rest stop on the Florida Turnpike!!! YUK YUK YUK
But ticks do not seem to be a problem in our area at all.........thank goodness!:D

I wasn't going to start my dogs on the FleaTreats yet but my brother found a tick on Tinka today. 9737 Utterly GROSS. I'm so glad he was here to take it off. So, we immediately started the FleaTreats and I will concoct some recipe for a spray made from essential oils. This is only the 2nd tick my dogs have had in over 9 years.
Bad Tinka went running into the woods yesterday chasing a chipmunk or something (maybe a leaf :lol2: ) So, I'm assuming she got it while in the woods.
I had my brother check the other dogs while he was here.:D

I've heard about the little lizards (or whatever) that come into houses and are all around. Your bugs don't have a cold season to die off - they just keep multiplying and getting bigger and BIGGER.
Don't the awful insects bother you?

The only bugs that "bother" me are the nastey roaches!!! They are just so ugly and gross! Fortunately we do not have them. I have my fly swater in one hand and my bug spray in the other and if they are just too big or too gross, I get the hubby!:lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:
Lizards are kept at bay by the three amigos...........they love to chase them so the lizards have learned to stay out of the lanai. Can't recall one ever getting in the house.

9747 Now that I have seen your pic, I am imagining you running around swatting and spraying "things." So roaches don't live in FL or you just personally don't have them?
I'll bet that is why your dogs are so "perfect!" They see you coming with the spray and fly swatter and know they have to be on their best behavior.:lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

Oh roaches love Florida and they are one of our popular bugs!!! I just don't have them in my house. I have seen them outside.......and guess what? They have some that "FLY" and they are great at flying right at ya!!!
When we first came to Florida, we had them in the house all the time (it was an old house and in the sticks). I hated them things!!! AND still do!
You make me sound like a drill soldier dressed up with spray and swatter on a mission!!!:lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

Oh dear, it seems I am having to "explain" thing more and more to you!!! I hunt the worms that crawl onto the lanai and die!!!! They love the dead ones!! They walk around the lanai in the morning and look for their dead victims to give a good roll!!! So it's not like I get my worm hunting suit on and go through the yard looking for worms!!!! Woman do you think I am that nutty!!!????:p :p

It probably is a Hawaiian name! :) :) But it is the area around the pool that is enclosed with screening and has a decking for suntanning and the likes! It is really nice on the few cool mornings we have to sit and sip coffee and read and the fluffs just love it out there. Of course I never leave them out there by themselves as Toby and Brandy have both fallen in. Toby twice and Brandy once! Kallie is way too smart to fall in. So there ya have it. I'll have to take a picture of it and post it for ya! Think Jolie would like the lanai?:D

Natural things that "I" might eat but certainly not dead nastey ugly dried up worms!!! Those would NOT be in her feeding schedule!!! She would be treated like the other princesses in our home!!!:hearter: :hearter: :hearter:

They key is to get to the worms before they do!! :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: But after a few no no............they step aside and let mom pick them up! That's what perfect dogs do!

I probably shouldn't talk to you anymore cause my dogs and my imperfections may rub off on you. I certainly wouldn't want that to happen.
Do you have rabbits around? Do your perfect dogs try and eat the rabbit scat?

Actually we did have a rabbit around hiding in one of our bushes but he only stayed a short time. I think Toby smelling and running around the bush gave him a scare!! Most creatures of the rodent family steer clear of our yard because of Toby as he is a fast little fellow and I think they might meet their demise should he catch them.:lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: So the rabbit did not hang around long enough to leave any scat!
My camera does not take that long of a video! :) I will have to have hubby take some vid of our daily grooming sessions. Maybe I will piece my day with my pups into several vids.....JUST FOR YOU!!!!:hearter:

Go for it!!! I would love to see you in action. Hmmm - maybe I could just hop on a plane and come down and see in person. :D
We have rabbits around here all the time. We have a little gopher that lives here too. He is the cutest little thing. When we're outside I can hear him chattering away. He's not really afraid of people - he will sit and chatter pretty close to us. He just came out of hibernation a couple weeks ago. So I was talking to him and welcoming him back. :o The person that lives in my house :wink5: wanted to kill the sweet little thing!! I ended that idea pretty darn quick. We have woods surrounding our house on three sides and then the river beyond one patch of the woods, so I don't think we will ever be free of critters.
Ya know, these threads really get off topic, don't they? This one is supposed to be about a flea product. Silly us.

I think rabbits carry fleas and so a good flea product is necessary if you have rodents in your area (now we are back on topic and you made it so easy!) :lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

I hope it works for you too!! The lawn service, vaccuming and dog bathing seem to have taken care of my flea problem. It is the first time in 8 years that I have had any fleas on a god so it was quite frustrating and annoying. But my approach was very time consuming, lots of washing, vaccuming and a pep talk with the lawn service.
