View Full Version : Tink is sick and I have A Crazy Bird Outside!

Tink has a fever and is very needy today. She won't eat and just wants me to hold her so she can bark at the mentally challenged Robin outside.
I can't let her outside because the bird has pooped all over my patio and the sidewalk and I don't want Tink walking in it.
It sits on top of my shepherd's hook in the yard right at the edge of the patio. Then it flies right into the glass panel in my door and hits it's beak on the window! It's been doing this for two days!
I've tried covering the window and I tried drawing huge black and red eyes on white paper and taping it to the window. Didn't work. It's such a small area; a little apartment patio and I don't understand what the bird is trying to do! It's making me crazy! Wouldn't you think it would have a major headache?!?!

So what's going on with Tink? Sick again? Poor baby.
LOL. How many times has this poor bird hit the window? Maybe she is seeing her reflection and thinking it's another bird.
Maybe if you put something on the outside of the window of your door - like a dish towel or something that will move, the bird will probably be scared off.
Give Tink a kiss for me.

I don't know what's wrong with Tink. She's playing with me but she doesn't want anything to eat or drink although she was chewing on a bully stick alittle while ago.
She has a little fever and her paws and nose are hot and dry. I called the vet and he said to just keep an eye on her today. We increased her meds on Thursday and he thinks that may be the culprit.
That bird is insane! I went outdoors yesterday and looked at the window panel but you really can't see much. I don't know why it is flying at that little door panel. Dumb Robin!
We have snow showers today all day. No accumulation though. Did you get bombed by the storm this week?

We had a mix of snow and rain - total of about 4-5" of slush. Today it is all frozen and it is snowing lightly. The wind is so strong it about blows Brea over. She doesn't care though - she just wants to stay outside and play.:)
I can't find the energy to do anything today. I'm making a loaf of bread in my bread maker, but that's about it. I have to get to Wal-Mart to return some things - dont' know if I'll make it or not.
How are you feeling now a days, Susie?

I need to go out to the store today too. I have to because Tink is almost out of food. I need to get more livers and chicken for her and I'm out of cranberries too. Poor Tink!
I'm hanging in there until the surgery.

Oh poor Tink!!!! That little girl has been through soooooo much and just fights everything that is thrown at her. I hope she will be fine and not make you worry so much! She isn't even my dog and I worry about her!
Hope all goes well with your sugery as well. Say, Susie, Could you PM me your new address???? I would really appreciate it! :)
Now about that Robin........maybe you should call animal control and see if they can help ya out with the problem!! Bird poop on the patio is not a good thing for Tink or you!!! Maybe you need to get one of those air horns and when he flies at the window, give it a hoot!! It might scare him away but of course it might give you or Tink a bit of a fright as well!:lol2: :lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

She did drink some water yesterday. But no food. I feed home cooked but she won't even eat it out of my hand. I don't know if she would let me syringe feed. She's pretty much just laying on me most of the time.
I finally got rid of the demented bird! I put white paper over the winder on the outside so the bird couldn't see it's reflection. And I put vaseline on the shephards hook so it couldn't get a purchase on it. It finally stop knocking it's beak on the window about 4:00!

See, you got it all figured out and outsmarted a "ROBIN.":lol2::lol2::lol2: Now your neighbors think you are a luniebird! JK
Well, do you think Tink is getting weak from not eating and that is why she is laying on you???? Three days without food for Tink is a bit alarming for me!:(:(:(

I think it's a combination of the increased dose of meds and no food. She was laying on me Thursday already. She's going to the vet tomorrow! She did just finally drink some of the broth water - yayayayay!!!
Did you check out my new profile page - of course not, I just finished it. go see!

I left a message for you on it. :D
I'm so glad the killer robin won't be bothering you any more. I was getting a little worried when you started drawing big eyes to hang in your window.:lol2:
I'm glad Tink is going in tomorrow. I wonder why she gets sick so often? Does the vet have any ideas about that?

Well this time he thinks it's just an effect of having increased her dose of phenobarbitol for her seizures. But she tends to go overboard when she gets sick doesn't she! I think it's all for effect. If she could put her hand to her brow and pretend to faint, I think she would! LOL JK:lol2:

Hey anybody out there? It's OK - I know you BOTH love to tease. I can take it - I just have to whine once in a while to keep you on your collective toes.
Tink is getting fluids subq. And Morkie, you were right. The vet told me to put her food in the blender with some broth and give it to her in a syringe. I had to leave her there today so he could watch her. I got her back at 7:00 after all his other clients were gone, so he could talk to me. I made her some food and fed her a little while ago. She barfed it right back up. So I added more broth and tried again. She seems to be keeping this down although she gagged and gagged.
The vet said he doesn't know why she is having such an awful reaction to the increased meds dose. So he made me an appointment at the vet school. ARGH! I don't want to go through this again. I'm thinking very seriously of switching vets. I've been with him for a long time, but he doesn't keep up with the current treatments and he never seems to know what to do with the little ones. He has changed his practice the last few years and is treating cats way moer than dogs. I have a hard time getting in unless I tell them "I've been coming here for 20 years...blah blah blah."
WHAH! Poor me, poor poor little Tinkerbutt.
