How housebroken is Lil? And is there any way I could get a picture?

maltese2

Lil is doing well with the housebreaking. She uses potty pads most of the time. I usually just keep her in diapers though. I have no way of sending a picture of her. I can't load them on my computer for some reason.

I have gone down on the adoption price of these beautiful girls. I am now only asking $200.00. These girls come with all of thier belongings that I have bought for them.

It would really be helpful if you could post some pictures............I would never add a dog to my pack without seeing a pic first. I have rescued two maltese myself and insisted on pictures before I even made the trip to check out their personality. I know we have a couple of potential buyers who have been looking to add a maltese to their family so a picture could seal the deal! Perhaps you could get someone to help you upload the pics to your pc. I really think this would make the difference in your getting potential homes for the girls! JMO

Well, I can't load pictures on to my computer. I had a friend come over to help me but she couldn't get them to load either. (She is a computer nerd.) She said that I need to take the computer to the shop. I will meet someone if they would like to see these girls. I understand about wanting to see them first. That is why I am willing to meet someone. I will not ship these girls so they have to go within driving distance anyway. They both have been clipped.

I would love to see Lil. It's just an incredibly busy month with finals, and then in June I'm taking a long trip with the family. I'd hate to see her, fall in love with her, take her and then have to have her boarded for two weeks.

If you still have her when all this is over with I will definitely be coming to at least see her. If, in the meantime, you get some pictures could you send them to me? :) Thanks.

Oh, and is she spayed?

maltese2

There is nothing wrong with her eye. It is just the way the film was developed. I don't have a digital camera that is compatible with my computer so I took these with a disposable camera and then had the film developed. Here are a couple more pictures of Lil. Unfortunatly all the pictures of Mitzie turned out too blurry to see. I will try to get more of her.

Hi - I'm new here and I just saw that you got your first Maltese from a breeder in Oklahoma. I am in Edmond, Oklahoma, and am looking for my first baby Maltese. Mind if I ask who the breeder was? Thanks

How do you rescue from a breeder?

How do you rescue from a breeder?

Some back yard breeders turn in their females to rescues, pounds, etc. or individuals because they are done with them as far as breeding and see them as a liability instead of $$$$............so these dogs need rescued from their situation and future.

How is it different that any retired breeder? I know breeders, show breeders included not just BYB, retire their females when they are either not producing stock that improves the breed, have had enough enough litters, not good whelper, didn't mature to correct size, littering isn't safe for her health, I mean the list does go on....for many reasons. They just can't keep all of them so they retire them by placing them in pet homes...same as when a litter is born and not all are show prospects, they go into a pet home. I take it that this forum is dog fancy friendly?

Back yard breeders breed strictly for the money and have no interest in showing or bettering the quality of the breed. Show breeders limit (or should) the number of breeding of their females and do retire champions when they have reached their potential. Of course they will be older dogs where as BYB sell to anyone including petshops regardless so they can fill their pockets with money. JMHO

In Arizona, BYBs cannot sell to petstores. Only USDA puppies can be sold in a petstore. Some buy from hobby breeders; but those have to be certified as well. None come from Arizona hobby breeders as they are not certified. Also, I just came home from the show here in Scottsdale...coincidently there was a conversation amongst show breeders laughing that they guessed they would be considered byb, kitchen breeders, mini mills, or other names because they breed at home and sell pet puppies. In talking I found that the majority own at the very least 10 dogs; which to me I don't care, but it can cause a gasp amongst some which I guess is where the conversation started. It of course got more in depth than that, but essentially the point was using certain terms and the differing meaning of it to individuals.

I don't think LIl has cherry eye, she said it was just the way the pic developed, in the other two pics posted her eye looks just fine..
