Believe it or not, his coat is much easier to handle and keep than the girls' hair!!! Much thinner and does not matt as easily. Of course, I am a daily brush person which I am sure helps with all the furbabies.

The coat of the yorkie and maltese is what really interested me and the hubby most about each breed. That is why it is so hard for me to keep any of them in a short cut. I just think they are so stunning in long coats. Nothing more pleasing to the eyes than the proud walk of a Yorkie or the run and free flying hair of the maltese as it romps through the grass towards you.:hearter::hearter::hearter::hearter:

Sort of makes you forget all about the "work" it takes to keep it long and lush!....and I did say sort of!

It took about eight months for him to get a full coat! But I have never cut him since we adopted him and we have had him for 2 years now except for around the feet and a few areas that drag on the floor!

I am sure Tricksie will have a full coat in no time at all! Think she can stand the heat?? I know Toby can take the heat much better than the maltese girls!

I don't worry about the heat, I have a different home, it is big, screened in pool and courtyard but no yard for her to run in, so she is in the A/C except in the mornings and afternoons she plays on the front porch, looking for lizzards and runs around the pool, what else? looking for lizzards. She gets a lot of excercise in the house, chasing balls, etc.
I am certain that my Kojak, the Maltese had a heat stroke, he went to work with his Papa everyday and he had a light colored,truck/van combo, it never got hot inside, then he got a dark grey truck, am sure the temp was too hot for him, but he was 16 and would have passed if he couldn't be with his Papa everyday. He is buried in our back yard with a big cross. I sure miss him.
I am rambling like an idiot.
So, I can't wait for Tricksie to have that long coat like Toby.

I can only hope that my two maltese live that long! I cannot imagine my life without them but I know that day will come.:(:(:(:( It's not something that you can ever prepare for.

I think Tricksie has the cutest little face......and wonderful coloring so I can't wait to see her grown out either! I am sure she will be stunning!:hearter:

Thank you Laurie!!! He does love to sit on the lanai with the girls but he likes to lay in the sun while the girls lay in the shade most of the time!!!
