Let's see what you guys think and then I'll know if I am overreacting or not...

Today I went into Petsmart looking for cute stuff for my secret exchange buddies. Then over by the training area there is a stand of things. There is a bag of 3 MOUSE TRAPS! Packaged for the purpose of being a training aid to deter your dog from doing bad things!! There is a picture of a garbage can with a trap on top, then a picture of a couch of a trap there and it shows a dog getting snapped and not liking it. WTF??? And the worst part is that it was the last one left! That means people were actually buying this!

I was pissed! Actually I was sick, I walked around the store, thinking how awful that was, I put all of my merchandise back. I was extremely tempted to pick up that bag and take it to the manager and ask why the hell they promote animal abuse??? But, I know that manager has nothing to do with what is on their floor and he would just put it back on the shelf once I left anyway, so I didn't. I decided if someone needs to be cussed out, it is some corporate person right? So I did leave there thinking they are not getting a dime of my money. And I AM going to complain to someone atleast in an email.

Now, you guys tell me, what you think of this...

 That is terrible!! We go to PetsMart on Saturdays for Jack's training and I will look and see if they have it. If they do, I will take it up to the store manager and get the corporate number and lodge a major complaint.
Thanks for the heads up. If pet owners don't complain then things won't be changed.

I found this site on line.
http://www.scottsdog.com/sntrtrde.html

I didn't realize that there was another piece they want you to attach to it, it looks like a paddle. They say it is not dangerous. I feel better about it.

Not a good idea when you are trying to win the confidence and trust of a dog! A definite no no for any type of training in my opinion.

That is no way to control unwanted behavior in a pet:( .

Even though I looked at that website, it still looks dangerous.

I wouldn't use them on my pets, I don't like the Idea of them at all. I wouldn't mind one for in my fridge, so when I buy myself some treats and my kids try to steal them, they will get a good shock:tongue6:

Still, even after checking out the site I don't like it.

I hope the inventor tested it on himself and didn't use his pooch as the tester:(

I wouldn't use it on my pets either but like Bek i wouldn't mind one for the skin kids:tongue6: I could shop 7 days a week if they had their way:D

I think the water spray would be just as effective!!
