Well, he did fine. The instructor was looking around for a dog to demonstrate something with and I volunteered Landon. :D I figured he wouldn't do it. The laugh was on me cause he did it perfectly. Little stinker.

Getting him to give me his full attention for more than two seconds is pretty challenging. He gets bored easily. All in all he is coming along fine. Someone gave him a piece of hot dog for a treat and he spit it out - not once, but 3 times. :lol2::lol2: He knows what's good for him. ;)

My instructor feeds her dogs raw too, so we chatted a bit about that. Landon tried to sit on my lap during a pause in the class. People thought that was pretty funny.

After class I wanted to stop at Petsmart to get some plants for my aquarium. It was right on the way home, so I took Landon in with me. I normally don't bring my dogs into the stores.

Do you know how hard it is to do ANY shopping with a Dane along? Almost every person stops you and wants to pet him and oohs and aahs over his size, etc... etc... especially the kids. I guess it's good socialization for him, but the shopping trip was a bit longer than I planned.

He is such a sweet boy. I'm very fortunate to have him. :hearter:

Now to just get that wiggle butt, ADD Jolie to mind.:lol2::lol2:

I'm so glad that Landon has done so well...........must be a smart dog!!!! I hope he continues to do well in his classes. Sounds like he is really eager to please which I think makes a big difference in their training. Maybe you should put Jolie through classes.

Toby goes tomorrow for class and I haven't had the chance to work with him this week (playing too much Wii):o:o:o:o:o

When I take my kids into the stores, I put them in a shopping cart or the infamous "stroller" or in the frontpacks we bought for each of the girls and the side carrier for Toby. I can just see you trying to get Landon into a cart!!!:lol2::lol2::lol2::lol2::tounge:

Yep, if I happen to bring a little one along, they are in a carrier in the cart. I open the carrier, but they don't get to come all the way out. I'm a bit paranoid of doggy diseases, can you tell?

Yes, I'm hoping Landon will finish his classes early and then I can use the remainder of the paid classes for Miss Stinkerbutt.

Playing too much Wii to train your dog? That is so not like you. :D It can be pretty addicting, can't it? I certainly hope you leave enough time to BRUSH DAILY.:lol2:

That would be quite a sight. I can't physically get him to do anything! It's like trying to move a horse. I usually, at any given time, have a bruise on the top on one of my feet because he steps on them.:( I never thought a dog could bruise me just by stepping on me for a second.

It's quite an adventure. :D

Wii is second to my babies and I always fine time to BRUSH DAILY, that's why I have had the same bottle of Cowboy Magic for over a year!:lol2::lol2::lol2:

Last Tuesday didn't go too well at training. The room is always super hot so everyone was sweating and the dogs were very hot. Too many people showed up for class. It is supposed to be limited to 6 and there were 9.

Landon was being a HUGE, stubborn, brat. He would hardly do anything except sit. I was getting SOOO frustrated. Of course he could sense that, so I sat down and took a few deep breaths and started again. He just would not cooperate.

I was so hot and my car had some problems on the way over there and I still have to drive it home - 15 miles.

Well, Landon had runny poop that night and the next day was throwing up. So, I guess he hadn't been feeling well. :(

So today he is doing everything just fine. If he acts dumb in class again.......

Well don't know what kind of weather you are having that they hold classes with no AC but the facility I go to has AC and we have nine dogs in our class this go around. Four of the dogs have already been through the class once and this is their second attempt.

Next is the Advance 2 classes but you have to pass Advance 1 so I have to really work extra hard with Toby so we can move on. I am still considering doing the agility as well............just don't know yet.

Ours is held at one of the buildings of the Humane Society. It's a room for meetings and training but I have no idea why it is so hot. The rest of the building is fine.

Hopefully next week there won't be so many dogs there.

The training center I have been taking Toby to classes has moved. It is about the same distance but a larger facility and still is air conditioned. We'll see how he does with a "new" environment.
