Week #4 of Toby's Training

Well, he did really well today.....she did some distraction exercises and Toby did well with them until he walked by the two bigger dogs and he went after them..........guess he did not like how they looked at them or else they made the first move and I just missed it! But I still corrected him. He did fine with the down/stay for 3 minutes with me at the end of the dropped leash. Then we did a walk away out of sight and he stayed put much to my surprise.

So he is doing good but it is a bit stressing for him to be around the other dogs and have to "behave." I am hoping that he will get better as time goes by..........I truly do!

Sounds like he is doing pretty good! Does your class use treats at all for training?

I find that I get stressed out sometimes in class - probably more so than Landon. :)

No she hasn't used treats to give the dogs as part of their training but she left treats scattered on the floor and we walked them through the area and they were not suppose to pick it up and eat them.........sort of the "leave it" training. Toby doesn't like the treats she put down so he breezed through that exercise. LOL

I only stress that he will get hurt by the two bigger dogs that are a little aggressive. There are two that have stare down contests with him but I try to keep him focused on ME.
