poor Emma seems so itchy.
I was feeding Emma Innova puppy food when i first got her, but i read the ingredients and there were tomatoes in there and i heard that food with red ingredients will make eye stains worse? So I decided to switch her to Canidae, since all my other dogs were already on it, so I switched her slowey, at the same time I started putting Dream Coat in her food. she has been on Canidae about a week, maybe two and I have noticed she seems so itchy, she never scratched this much before. So Im thinking its either the Canidae or the dream coat? But I dont think it is the Dream Coat, b/c if anything shouldn't that help?

Anyways I just bought some Natural Balance duck and potato for allergies, im slowly switching her over but im wondering should I stop using the Dream Coat?

Also I dont know if this has anything to do with it, but we got our carpets cleaned a week ago, could that be a cause too? Maybe something they use is causing her to have allergies, I told them about the dogs and they told me it was really safe, so I dont know.

It might be the carpet cleaner they used. I would make the switch of the food and see if she gets better if not cut out the dream coat if she still isn't better then you know it's the carpet cleaner. You need to do it by the process of elimination.

DreamCoat contains soybean oil and some dogs are allergic to soy.

Remember that she won't stop itching immediately...It takes a couple or a few weeks sometimes after you eliminate the allergen for your baby to stop itching.

And yes, the carpet cleaner could very well be flaring up some allergies in your baby...
Just because it's safe for dogs does not mean that your dog may not be allergic to something in the carpet cleaner...
I'm allergic to a lot of things that are considered safe, but my body reacts adversely to these things...

I think I would do the duck and potato and stop the dreamcoat and wait!!! Wait until the dreamcoat is out of her system.........and allow time for the carpet cleaner to settle down. Once she is stable and not itching, you could add the dreamcoat and if she starts again, then you have found at least "one" of the culprits. Hope she gets better, poor baby. My Kallie is allergic to Lamb so I never feed lamb to any of them for fear she gets some, she's so sneaky sometimes.

Keep us updated on Emma and how she is doing.

Thanks for your input Marisol............I never thought about the dreamcoat having soy and an allergic reaction.
