I would check the bag as it usually will tell you the recommended amount of food for the weight of the dog. How much does he weigh??? Too little food and he could get low blood sugar, too much and you will end up with a hefty little guy (overweight).

What I noticed on the bags when I fed kibble was they almost always said to feed a lot. If I had fed my dogs as much as bags said to, we'd have to start a fat farm for dogs. :lol2:

A puppy does need more food though as it is growing. I wouldn't even worry about it till he is older. Of course if you see him start to gain too much, just cut back.

The norm is to feed 3 to 4 times a day...equal amounts. Ask your vet for the amounts - I think it may be 1/4 cup each meal. It is important that a pup eats through out the day.
