Losing Voice

So Cosmo must have been barking so much that now he is extremely hoarse. I did not know this could happen to pups or maybe it usually doesn't. I am not sure I just know that his voice is soo hoarse and it seems like he will not bark because maybe it hurts or something. Has this happened to any of your fluffs? I am definitely calling the vet first thing in the morning. While I have been at home he hasn't barked that much but maybe he is now barking when I am not at home. I am not sure. I know for sure the other night he was barking for no reason so I just let him because I don't want to give him attention when he does it but my gosh he sounds soo pitiful now. My boyfriend came home from being gone for a week on business and said what happened to his voice. My mother came to visit and she said the same thing. His voice is just not his usual:( Its soo hoarse he sounds pathetic:( Any suggestions as to what I can do to help him?

Wow Crystal, I've never had that happen with any of my furbabies. So I really don't have a clue...........I've never heard of a dog having that happen so I think I would certainly call the vet. I hope others see this and post to help you! I feel so helpless.:(

I dont know:( the only thing that i can add is that when mine got a little older their bark did change, Like Abbie's bark was so soft & quiet but not now! & the boys got deeper.

Hope he is OK Crystal, but yes...check with the vet!

Nemo is not a big barker but he barks, so I am giving this little thing a try a couple of others say it works great, no harm to the dog or you:D

Crystal, I'm so sorry to hear about Cosmo:( Kira has that problem when I have to board her when we're going out of town. She barks when I'm not around and by the time I get back her voice is sore. I just make sure she drinks lots of water and keep her calm. Her voice does come back. Let us know what happens when you come back from the vet. Hope he starts to feel better.:grouphug:

I used it once~~ as I was pressing the button I said "NO BARK" well now when Nemo barks all I say is NO BARK he looks at me like I'm an idiot but he doesnt bark:cheer: :cheer:
I really think it's worth a try . I would never use it if like the doorbell rings or your dog is barking at night at something outside, that is their natural instinct so you want them to bark at those times!!:D
