How well do you think you REALLY know the people you talk to here every day? I mean, know about their lives, their likes and dislikes, their quirks, their personalities, their favorite things? (not including dogs, of course!)

I don't know anybody here well at all. I do know some of their names and some info from post that I read but that is about it.

I think it is kinda like real life. I have some acquantainces, some friends and some very close friends (more like family).

I met my hubby online and I know that this is a good way to get to know somebody. I also know I was very lucky that we were both very honest and that is why it worked out.

Some I know very well and know "details" about their lives and family. Some I am still getting acquainted with but feel all those that I know on this forum are an asset and well worth getting to know.

Some have befriended me like they were my family and would be there for me to lean on anytime I needed them. Ones that you can really count on and are not afraid to express how they feel about you and to them I thank them for being such good friends. I hope they view me in the same way.:hearter:

I look forward to getting to know more of the members as they post and we talk in the profile pages. But also understand that some may want to be just members of the forum and share experiences and not develop a closeness and that is fine; I'm just glad they want to be part of the forum.

We met online in early spring, I flew to Canada the last weekend of June and the second I saw him, I knew we would be together no matter how hard it would be on us. He came to NC for my birthday in August, we flew back and forth until the beginning of December when I came to Canada permanently, we got engaged that weekend, married the following September and then we lived happily ever after (which I really didn't beleive in before).

This was a hard choice because I only know people pretty well but I do consider some real friends. There are some people on here that have been so supportive and so good to me through my illness and I will never forget that. Sometimes it just made my day a lot better to sign on when I was able and see the comments and posts.
