Today I washed all my babies toys. I am sorry to say not all made it through :( :D . I was just wondering how often everybody washes there babies toys?.
I check there toys all the time for rips and tears, but I am slack when it comes to washing them. To be honest I think I wash them about every 2-3mths.
How about everyone else?.

Bek, to be honest, I'm not great when it comes to washing their toys, I voted every 4-6 months. Actually some of their toys don't last 1 week. Their stuffed toys get chewed through and I do have a hospital for some of them, others I throw away. Their latex toys they don't play with too much. Those are the ones I was every 4-6 months.

I would say I wash their toys every 2-3 months but then again they don't need washed that often. I am constantly buying them new toys to play with but so the older toys stay clean and nice for a long time so when I do wash them it is every 2-3 months because I constantly buy new toys so washing isn't needed often. When I do wash them I throw the toys in a pillow case, tie it and put it in the wash. I have not lost one toy yet from being washed but I did lose a small dog bed, the wash tore it apart.

There is not a vote option for me!
I never wash them!
What:tongue6: I hear you say??????
They never last long enough to be washed, they always always take them outdoors to the garden & bury them or pee on them:eek: so i bin them:D
Actually mine don't really play with them that much, they seem to prefer the strap from my house coat or thieving stuff from my daughters room! Little beggars:smlove2:

Sorry I didn't vote...........I haven't washed a single toy yet! Between the two of them, the toys never get dirty.........they get destroyed because they tug at them so much playing. I went and checked and really only one really NEEDS to be washed. It is one of Kallie's very first toys (the toy has to be two yrs old) and it has three squeakers in it..............does anybody know if washing it will cause the squeakers to stop working????? If it does, I will wash it by hand as it is one of her favorites ( a pink elephant).

Me either , after they've been pulled apart by my 4 there is no point going to the washing machine with the remains . Sarah

Carol, I have alot with squeakers in them and they still work, squeakers are only little plastic things inside aren't they????.
Mine drag there toys outside in the yard, and sometimes forget to bring them in:D , and when we get SOME little rain, they get wet and smelly. My kids hang them on the line to dry, but after a while that damp smell sets in, LOL.

Yes, the squeakers are just plastic, but I was wondering if I threw them into the wash, if water would get inside the squeaker and it would not squeak anymore? I've just never thrown one in the washer before. Can water get into the squeaker????

I use a handheld steam cleaner so which ever toy is close by when I am cleaning with the steam cleaner I give the toy a once over too. I also do his beds with this also.
Soooo I didnt vote as you could say I wash them when they need it.... which could be daily, weekly or whenever I see one that needs a clean.

That's about how much I wash them too, Most of the time they get trashed before they get dirty and have to be thrown out. My babies really enjoy pulling out the stuffing and squeeker. :tongue5:

Toys don't last long here so I've never washed a toy. BUT I have read how important it is to wash them if they do hang around a while. Bacteria can build up and cause awful tummy illnesses for our pooches. Those little knawed on bully sticks and chew things as well.

Once a week, all toys go into the washing machines, even the plastic ones. Frankly, I would be happy if some of them with squeakers in them, wouldn't work when they come out, but they always seem to...

I just today washed "Mr Giraffe" in the washer as he was way too dirty even for the steam cleaner. I am happy to say that 2 of the remaining squeakers in his legs still work:D
See........ he is good as new and Scrappy has had him (a gift from a friend) Since I think last April and he is much loved. He has been into surgery several times too. Scrappy sits patiently at my feet never taking an eye of Mr Giraffe till he is fixed. I am actually trying to find replacement squeaks for when the remaining two die.
