I have never used either. Something about giving my dogs pig's ears just doesn't sound right to me.

We used to give our border collie pigs ears all the time and he loved them! they make a great treat for special occasions, not sure how a toy breed like Maltese would handle them though :)

I have a few of the antlerz around the house. The dogs are not that thrilled with them. They may chew on them for a minute here and there. I've had them for months and they are still here...
IMO, I think they are very hard. I am a little leary of a small dog breaking or chipping a tooth.

Pigs ears.. I used to give them to my larger dogs but I have never given one to the smaller ones. I think pieces could be chewed off and possibly cause choking. JMO. :)

No have never given them pigs ears, etc. I worry about any salmonella, choking, etc. they made contain. What country are they made in? A while back I read that these products could be also dangerous.

Lizzie gets the Pig ears, she Loves them .....I mean LOVES !

You can also get Pig Tails....they are called Texas Toothpics....she loves them too !

They are sold at the Holistic pet store I go too all the time so I would assume they are OK.

I didn't know that is what the Texas Toothpicks were...learn something new everyday. What are the Bully sticks? Zoe has recently been introduced to them and she is obsessed...mom can leave the room...we can leave the house...doesn't matter as long as there is a bully stick.

I don't think salmonella would be a problem if you really wanted to feed them. They are pretty much smoked to death. :lol2: I don't think anything could survive. Although I was wrong once. :D
Never buy anything from China or other countries besides the US. Other countries, on a regular basis, add arsenic and other awful things to the rawhides, etc...

Hmmm.. are all of Merrick products made in the US? Anyone know?

:lol2: Are you SURE you want to know?:lol2:

They are bull penises. :lol2::lol2::lol2:

That is the only "chewy" I will give my dogs anymore. And yes... they all love them like crazy. My "big" brother won't let the dogs near him if they have been chewing on one. :lol2:

The dogs know them as "chewies." If they hear me trying to sneak into the container that I store them in, they are all standing, waiting in line for theirs. It's pretty darn cute.:)

I have "heard" that Pig Ears are very greasy... so I never tried them.

And for dogs, the "stinkier" the better.

Pigs Ears made Chip really sick. We think it was the greasiness of them that made him sick. He loved it though and nipped at me when I took it away from him.

Do the achilles tendons take about as long to chew up as the bully sticks?

So does that mean you are a vegetarian? Touching this stuff is not anything like touching meat.. it's not slimy and cold and clammy. :D

No not really, I will eat some meat (very little and it has to be burnt), I just can't stand the smell and feel of meat and to hear about non-normal stuff like bull parts etc just makes my tummy turn.

As long as I did not know where it came from and if it doesn't smell I would be okay to give it. Once I know where something comes from, I can't. I guess I am not normal. :lol2::lol2::lol2:

Oh no... it's quite normal to like burned meat. :lol2:
So I'm guessing you would never be one to feed a raw diet to your dogs?:lol2:
