How many dogs allowed?

This is kind of off-topic, but I was reading in another thread about how many dogs you would WANT to have, that some cities and towns have a limit on how many dogs you can own...This is news to me. :confused: How can I find out how many dogs my town will let me have?

I live in Spring Hill, Florida and in the particular subdivision I live in, you are only allowed three pets whether it be three dogs, two dogs and a cat, one dog and two cats, etc............well, you get the idea! We have what they call an "association" which regulates things like pets, painting the house, clothes lines, etc. But in other areas surrounding me it is more rual and there is not a limit as long as they are kept up to date on their rabies and license. Each county and subdivision most likely regulates how many. Check with your local dog pound, maybe they can give you the information or direct you as to where you can find out!

I'm pretty sure if you contact your city hall they can tell you how many dogs you can have. My town has an ordinance that states how many dogs you can have and they all have to have city tags along with their rabies tags.

I have one yorkie and I'll be getting a maltese soon, so hopefully the limit isn't one! Surely it's at least 2.

Where I live, there really isn't a limit. As long as all the dogs are licensed and have their rabies shots then you are allowed to have as many as you want.

My dad lives in Boca , and we went last summer and everyday (Almost) we drove to Naples, I fell in love with it.It's so beautiful there!! I forgot the name of the block we turned down, but I remember we went to this private beach it was beautiful and not alot of people there, my husband just fell in love with it. He wanted to get like a 2 bedroom condo over there, but of course I said no:D it's so expensive and I didnt want him to spend so much money on a vacation house. Now of course I regret it:(

Wow I have never heard of having a limit on how many pets you are allowed !! There is no such thing as that in Canada, you could have as many as you want !!! This shocked me when I was reading !!!

Yeah, Naples is beautiful!! I love this area of Florida. You probably drove down 5th Ave, they have beautiful shops and great restaurants there. For our anniversary, instead of going somewhere else, we actually got a hotel on 5th Ave for a few days and just went out to eat there and went to the beach. By the way, Toby is just adorable!! I love that picture. As soon as I figure out how to post a picture, I will post one of my yorkie and of my mom's maltese/shih-tzu together.

Threre are no limits in Canada? In my area it is either four or five of the four legged pet types... I have three total...
They have those rules to prevent people from having more than they can take care of/keep under control...

In suburbia in my part of Australia there is only a permit to have 2

Though I so want 3 :D

These little dogs are like potato crisps :ladywink: Impossible to stop at just one :D
