Aloha from Maui, New Here

Hi Everybody,

I'm Sandy, mom to Meika (Morkie 3 mos), Tiki (Yorkie 5 mos.), and Niko (Schnauzer 13 yrs.). I live in Maui with hubby, and fortunately we are semi-retired, so have lots of time to play with furbabies (oh and also a very wonderful 4 yr old granddaughter).

I came to this site looking for information about Maltese, as my Meika is 1/4 Maltese (her mom is Maltese/Yorkie, and dad is Yorkie); so I'm interested to see what Maltese characteristics she has. Grooming and hair-style is my biggest question at this point, not knowing what to do with all the big fluff of puppy hair.

I see several members on here that I recognize from YT, and look forward to getting to know all of you. I know you all love to see pics (as I do too), so I put plenty in my album before introducing ourselves.

I'm so glad you joined the forum..........I'm on YT also! (Morkie4) And, no, I don't own a Morkie but I think they are beautiful!!! I used Morkie4 because at one time when I first joined the forums, I had one maltese and one yorkie and and it was just me, hubby and the two furkids.......so Morkie4.

I hope to get to know you better in the coming months. Now I have to go and take a look at your albums to get to know your furkids better. Hope to see you hanging on MT more often!

Isn't it amazing that such little, tiny creatures can keep one so occupied DAILY???? :lol2::lol2: I was thinking about that the other day and just shook my head. ;)

Welcome Sandy, It's so much fun to meet all you gals that live in glamorous places-California, Florida, Hawaii!!! Your babies are so wonderful-how does Niko get along with them? I'll bet you are glad you are mostly home-it would be hard to leave those 3! (The maltese part will be when she is able to make you feel guilty for something she has done!):lol2:

Niko likes the little girls pretty well. He is unbelievably patient and tollerant of their crazyness, and likes that they enjoy playing with his toys; yes he shares very well. I think he also was happy when Meika came along 3 months after Tiki, cause the girls play so much it gives him more time to rest. He is starting to slow down at almost 13 and is mostly deaf. He sure enjoys sharing their puppy food and extra treats, and has given up his favorite spot on our bed to the girls. The girls love licking his mouth and tongue; it's a real love fest sometimes. I must video it! I couldn't be more happy with all the furkids.

Hi There, yes it's fun to see other members from Hawaii, though I haven't found many. My Morkie and Yorkie puppies are both from Honolulu; I flew over to pick them up.
