Hello everyone!!
I'm Amy from Kentucky and fell in love with Maltese about 15 years ago when I got my little Maltese Muffy (which is in Heaven right now-she passed away on May 03, 2008 at 15 years of age). We found a little maltese last weekend but when I took her to my vet he recommend taking her back due to many birth defects which could lead to more health issues. We didn't want to take her back but we wanted to start with a healthy puppy especially after spending years with Muffy's health issues. We told her breeders we would be willing to take her back for free if she didn't find her a good home or was considering putting her down.
My question here is have any of you all heard of a breeder in TN named Kathy Scoggins. Or do you know of any good breaders in KY or near KY.
Thank you,
Amy

Welcome to Maltese Talk Amy!! It is so good to have you here with us. I am sorry for your lose of your Muffy and sorry that the new puppy has so many problems that you have to take her back. What exactly did they say was wrong with the new puppy?

I am not familiar with that breeder or any in your area. Hopefully someone else may be able to help you there.

WELCOME TO MALTESE TALK AMY!!!

So sorry to hear about your new pup having some health issues.......I would have returned the pup as well. You don't need to start out with problems.

I am not familiar with any breeders in your area but "Plumie" posted a good place to start looking!

So sorry about your sweet Muffy.........I can only hope that mine live that long.

Hi Amy!!! Welcome to Maltese Talk! I'm also from Kentucky.... I live in Bowling Green, where are you at?

My name is Leigh Ann and I am owned by two Maltese, Kaley and Bella, and a Cockapoo, Zack!

Plumie posted a good link for you to start with but yes, I do know of a few good breeders for you to inquire with... they are all located in TN but not too far out of the way.

http://www.phlicksmaltese.com/ This is where I got my Bella from and I can not recommend Janet enough! She's a great person and truly loves the breed!

http://www.sandsmaltese.com/ This is a good friend of Janet's who I've also met and highly recommend.

And finally, http://www.naysmithmaltese.com/brdr-index.asp. Very nice lady, I've spoken with her before I found Bella. She has beautiful dogs. :)

I hope this helps! Welcome to Maltese Talk!!
