We have this one anchor man on the local news here who is such a sweet, gentle, caring man. Everyone loves him.

Tonight he did a little blip about his family's dog. A little bit of history of the dog, how much everyone loved it. (I can't remember if it was male or fem.) How much the dog meant to his family.

The dog was 17 and they had to have it put down today. It was blind and deaf and was starting to have more health problems. He said they could of stretched her life out a few more months but that it seemed more like torture for her. :(

He said they sat with her and held her and petted her till she was gone. I could see the pain in his eyes and how he was having a bit of a struggle to not cry.

I keep crying now.... I know how they are feeling tonight, the pain... just like most of you do, too. It's just so sad to lose our best friends.

Now you have me crying....

It is very hard to put one of your dogs down. We had to do that with one of ours a few years ago and the hardest decision was when was they right time. She had cancer in her throat and on the back of her tongue that could not be treated.

I feel it takes so much strength to be able to put aside your feelings and do what is best for the animal. My heart goes out to everyone who has to face that time and hopefully they do what is best.

OH great, now I have tears in my eyes. It is so hard to have to do this. I KNOW!

I had to have my beloved Shannon put to sleep due to her many awful health issues, it took me a LONG time to get over that. She was the VERY best dog I had ever had. AND STUPID me, I always took her for granted, I feel now... since I have so few photos of her. I was awful, taking so little photos of both her and my then cat, Bean. I felt as if they would always be with us and learned the hard way, no their body would not always be with us. :(

I'm almost in tears because that reminds me of when we put my cat down in April. She was 17 years old and I had her since I was 3. We all were crying hard and each of had our hands on her stroking her as she went. Even Adam (who didn't like my cat because she hated him) was tearing up.
