So.... here is mini review. :)
Coat Handler products are fine... I have several of them but don't use them as much as some other products I have. BUT! Their Anti-Static/Detangler Spray works very well for matts and tangles. I like it much better than the Cowboy Magic.
I have this spray by Hansen's Pet Systems. It is called Labor Savor Sea Kelp Moisture Mist Detangling Pet Spray. It works REALLY well on those matts.
Some of the ingredients are: Sea Kelp and Sea Plant extracts, aloe vera, wheat protein, vitamins B, C, & E, almond oil, lemongrass.
It is a water based spray. It is also great for their skin and helps to rehydrate their coats. It works wonders on Tinka's cottony coat. It is so shiny and is lying down much more nicely. Of course, diet and supplements and whatever play a huge part in how the coat looks, but her's looks way better when I use this.
Just a FYI. :)

Thanks for the info...I have been using the 1A system products and they have changed Jasper's coat to that frizzy mop now to one that is softer with less matting...he still gets some mats but not as bad. It helped once we cut off most of his frizz. I will have to try that spay and see how it works.

Hmm I may have to try that on Posh. I currently use coat handler products on Posh.
I use Tropiclean on Diddy. He doesn't need a detangler, he never gets knotty.

Kaya is like that too... never a matt. Once in a while just a tiny tangle. I LOVE to take caer of her hair, it's so fun. :)

I found this site that says aloe vera is poisonous to dogs........but I think it is talking about plants that are toxic to them "if" they are ingested not topical. I could be wrong too. Of course if it touches their skin and is absorbed into the skin, well, I'm not so sure now. Thanks for the inquiry.........GOOD POSTING!!! I guess it is something that we will have to look into further. Maybe a call to the ASPCA. :) :)

The ASPCA site says it is toxic to dogs and can cause: vomiting, depression, diarrhea, anorexia, tremors, change in urine color.
But again, I think they are referring to the ingestion of the plant.

Happy Tails Fur Butter is a very good conditioner too for the frizzies.:) And I almost always add a titch of Blow Dry Cream by Plush Puppy after the bath.
It takes some experimenting but I think I have come up with the combo for Tnka's hair... now on to Jolies.... :D

I probably should make a disclaimer here.. LOL. My cottony Tinka is a Yorkie... so Maltese frizz may be different to deal with.;)

We have his frizz under control now, after I cut off all the frizz that was there which was from his puppy coat, his hair is definitely much better. It actually looks and feels so much better than what it did before.
