Shame on those people for leaving their pets behind.:mad: I would part the Red Sea with my bare hands to take my pets with me.
No reason to do this, not with the passage of that new law.

I took this from the article:

at least 50% of the evacuees left without their pets. Despite repeated warnings from local officials of catastrophic flooding, numerous animals were left behind - chained or crated - many of whom have paid the ultimate price for their guardians’ indifference.

This is just not acceptable of anyone to leave their "pets" behind.......I am like Cheryl, I would take my pets and sleep in the car in another town if I had to evacuate. Leaving them behind is just not an option!!!!! Some of the pets didn't have a chance to survive when they were chained! :(:(

I just don't understand how people could leave their pets behind. There needs to be stricter laws regarding pets in respect to their care and treatment. The people who left them should be jailed and severely fined. That is just outrageous to think of someone being so stupid as to leave them and not give a darn. Also, I have heard of vet offices and shelters that left animals in cages while they evacuated and that is not right either.

i know im crazy but i have a pet (and human) emergency kit in my trunk for times like that where if there was a hurricane ecacuation all id have to do is gather the animals (and husband lol) and go.
