Are they a reputable breeder? They live in Clebourne Texas. Their website is:

I don't know the breeder but I did notice that she had listed "teacups." No such thing.......maybe very small maltese but not a recognized size for the showring. I also noted that she did not list any of the pedigrees or backgrounds on her dogs......hopefully others will be able to help you.
They are also not on the list with the "American Maltese Association."

Did you actually read what she says about Teacups ?
The term teacup is a slang term used by the public
to describe an adult dog weighing less than 4 pounds.
This is a descriptive term such as babydoll
used in advertising puppies. As our Cherub maltese
are usually 4 to 5 pounds, some of our puppies mature a little
less than four pounds and others a little more than five.
Depending on the parents our puppies that are two pounds
at twelve weeks can very often times mature out to be less than
four pounds as adults. Breeders claiming to breed teacups
or for teacups are usually the commercial or backyard breeders
using the bogus registration papers. Unless it is an AKC DNA
backed pedigree you do not know if your puppy is from
inbreeding or substandard stock. With the size of a teacup dog
they are not bred by reputable breeders as they would probably
not reproduce easily without real risks of loss in whelp.
Equally offensive are the over zealous people that go off on this
harmless descriptive term. The size of a healthy dog has no bearing
on its health. Smaller healthy maltese can live just as long and only
required the adjusted care from their owners that the size of the
dog mandates. A poorly bred or inbred dog that is from a
NON-AKC DNA backed CHAMPION pedigree will most likely
not be as healthy, trainable, and beautiful as a selectively bred puppy.

In Memory
Mrs. Connie Hemen has joined her husband,
Loren, in enternal salvation. Losing her battle with cancer
with the grace and demeanor that she lived her life.
Her many accomplishments she would dismiss to being a wife
and mother to a family she held so dear. A special bond she shared
with her youngest daughter Jane is the love of all animals,
especially maltese. Our wedding gift in 1983 was a darling
female puppy, Miranda, the most beautiful puppy we could
imagine! Connie was never really impressed with the
pomposity of the dog show world. She loved all of them
equally and some that needed it ... a little more.
The Cherub line was her dream and shared vision with Jane,
and was a constant source of inspiration and hope of
what was to come. For Jane, seeing the development and progress
of her mother's bloodline of 30 years is a constant reminder
of Connie's dedication to her beloved Cherubs.

I agree about the word teacup....she never made that remark towards her own. I could not find anything wrong with her site that sent any red flags.

Janine & Tammie, just want to thank you two for your input and information.........I honestly did not look too long at her site. I "assumed" that when she had the word teacup on her site, it meant she offered teacup maltese. My error!!!!
But she is still not listed with the American Maltese Organization........but thanks for clearing that up. Guess the best thing is to call and talk with her or go visit her kennels. No harm in doing that! :)

Thank you all for your input. I wanted to know honestly what you all thought of them, because my Clifford is from them. At the time when I got him, I was like any other person buying a dog, and not doing my research. After I got him I wanted to get all the info I could on maltese's, so I could care for him correctly. I've learned a ton, and think the breeder isn't bad, but are also not the best breeder out there. Clifford actually weighs in at 8.5 lb, so no teacup here.....lol. Anyways... Thank you for your wisdom and honesty. :)

Your baby is a cutie!!! Most of us do not know about our breeder until after the fact. Many people including my self just found a breeder and got a dog without researching into them. If I was looking for a show or breeding dog I would have probably done more research than just picking one and going out there. If your baby is healthy and has no problems then you did alright.

Hey, I live in Bedford, and we should let your furbutts have a playdate? Anyways, that is how I kind of felt. If I wanted a show dog, I would do tons of research to find an excellent line, but for a pet, it doesn't matter to me. Clifford is totally healthy, and haven't had a problem yet. He is a year old now, and doing great. Anyways, thanks................have a good one.

Well in the near future will have to figure something out. Clifford plays with his brother Larry the cat, but we do go to the dog park alot. We could meet at the new park in Euless at Bear Creek or somewhere near you.
