Does anyone feed their maltese Canidae?? Or have you heard of it??
I went to the pet store to buy some more Chicken Soup dog food and saw this there and decided to get it instead. I have heard great things about it and it seems like a great dog food. All natural ingredients, no fillers or preservatives or by products and it has omega 3 and 6 fatty acids. It also said it was for all life stages, puppy, adult, working, senior. This was one of the main reason that I decided to get it. Sugar and Candy are still on puppy food while the other 5 are on adult dog food, and one is on senior food. So instead of buying 3 different brands like I usually do, I thought I would give this a try. The kibbles felt small so that is great so that the smaller dogs will eat it. Keeping my fingers crossed that they all like it!!

I have heard of it but it is not carried in any of our local petstores. But I heard it throught the internet sites........sounded like a good product. I was thinking of trying Nature's Variety.........read some good things about it too and the local Health Food Store carries it. I am pleased with what I am using but always like to keep an open mind to other good products. And one person said dogs do not need variety........and they may be right........but I need to give them variety!! LOL

MyTrixie143, Just curious...Did all your doggies end up liking the Canidae? And how are they doing on it?

I haven't opened the bag yet. I will probably open it tommorrow but I need them to finish their other food first. I will let you know what they think think of it!!

You might want to try mixing the two types together for a couple of days just adding alittle bit of the new dog food each day as sometimes the sudden change in dog foods can give dogs the runs! Not pleasant!:fainted: :fainted:

:) You need to switch them over to the new food slowly. Like Carol said mix the old with the new and then slowly reduce the amount of the old so at some point it's just the new..
Good Luck,

Yes I am mixing in the old with the new but I have 2 bags of the old. One is almost gone and once it is I will open the other bag of the old brand I use to get and mix it with the new one. I hope that makes sense, lol.

Alright, so I gave them a few kibbles to try for a sample and.......................They love it!! Even the two picky eaters, Scampers and Destiny loved it!! They kept begging for more, lol. So I mixed in their old food, Chicken Soup, with the Canidae and the picked out all the Canidae and ate it and left the Chicken Soup. So I guess you can say they really like it!!!

Geez, that's great. Sounds like feeding the Canidae was a success! This is one of the foods I've been considering feeding my future maltese.

I just recently changed Fendi's old food to Canidae, and she LOVED it. I also switched her slowly, but she would literally pick out all the Canidae kibbles and what was left were her old kibbles. Now when I go home, she just jumps for joy because she knows it's dinner time!

What ultimately made me decide to go with Canidae were the same reasons you just mentioned: no fillers, completely healthy and natural. Canidae is great and I'm totally glad that I switched!
