I would like to see if I can let Babe's hair grow full length. How do I begin training the topknot? I've read the site for grooming a Maltese. His hair is not quite long enough to create a full topknot, but is long enough to begin the training of one.

Thank You

My babies don't have a topknot, but I do put bows etc etc in there hair from time to time. I would just start by putting a little ponytail in his hair and get him used to that.
Others can help in more detail I am sure.

I dont know if you can train a topknot:confused:

What i would do if the hair is not long enough for a little band is try to pin it back with a little clip to keep it out his eyes/face. Hair poking in the eyes can cause tearing!

Sorry, i'm not much help but given a little time it will be long enough for a top knot!

I agree, I think I would try to pull the hair back in a little band or a clip until it grows long enough to do the top knot. Good luck :)

aerong is used to it, daerong HATES IT!
donbi is used to it....
the rubberbands help a lot, BUT!!!
what happens is the bows...
i need to figure out how to get the bows to stay in their hair
they help each other and rip it off :(
even with apple bitter

Cosmo is in a rubber band..but I tell you for me it was more so training him to sit still to put the rubber band on. That was the real challenge. Its true what the say practice practice practice because I have gotten a lot better than before. So you are doing great with starting now to train to sit for the grooming:)
