Max the Maltese disappeared from his home several months ago. He is from West Palm Beach, FL. They reported his disappearance as a pet theft. Max was picked up in Chicago and animal control workers identified him by his implanted microchip. (***another good reason to get this done***)
The Northcentral Maltese Rescue organization is helping out with his return flight, which should happen tomorrow. They had to trim layers of matted fur and had him vet checked so he could get a clean bill of health (which is required) for his airplane trip.

A happy ending for Max and his family.

That's so bittersweet. Poor dog and what he must have gone through but to go back to his owner that's so great. It makes me all warm inside
