I just found out last night from my other neighbor that my neighbor across the street got rid of their pit bull cus they just got a Pom (purse dog) thats how my neighbor word it. Cant believe how cold hearted that is by opening the backyard gate and let it run lose .. :eek: Why would anyone do this.:confused: They should have taken it to a shelter instead of letting it lose in the street like that! This dog have been with them for more than 5 yrs.
So irresponsible and heartless!!

One time the parents try to offer the pit to me, I told them I don't want a big dog. They're were complaining cus their oldest daughter didn't bother to take care and just let it out in the yard. The daughter didn't want to give it away. Now that she got another one they just let the other one lose so easily.
I'm not to fond of the daughter either.
We used to talk whenever I'm out walking my boys. But ever since she start College and have BF, we don't talk as much.
I still cant believe she went out and got a Pom when shes hardly home.
I'm just glad this one is inside and not outside, but I pray that this one will get better care.

I thought I need to vent, since its been staying in my head all night.
I still cant get over the fact that they just let her lose in the street.
Pet is family and I guess some people still thing it just a accessories.

They just opened the gate and let him go? What creeps! Is he still hanging around the neighborhood? Maybe you could get him and take him to a humane society or something. Poor dog.

that's awful! I feel so bad for that poor dog :( have you seen him hanging around still? Maybe you should get him to a rescue. I know where I live pits are very popular and would have no problem finding a home

That's about as dumb as they come! Just to let a dog out and on its own is stupid! They should have turned it into a rescue. I would think that after having him for five years that he would not wonder too far and be hanging around. Maybe you can suggest they do the rescue thing. If he isn't street wise, he might not even be around anymore. How sad that would be.

Natalie, this makes me sick. I HATE people like this. Yes, hate is a strong word, but there is no reason for this. You just don't do that to animals.

I can't believe they did that! They aren't going to take care of this dog any better then they did the pit. And because of the pits reputation, there is not telling what someone might do to him if he shows up at their door. Ugh

That is so sad... and especially because he's a pit, there is no telling what could happen to him... I just pray he ends up in the right hands and finds himself a loving home!

unfortunately I dont know how long ago they let this poor dog go.
I know its been awhile, cus I saw the daughter holding the Pom since last month.
I Just didnt realized they got rid of the Pit, I hardly see the Pit out from the yard.
So I wouldnt know if shes still there or gone if my other neighbor didnt tell me about it.

Two things: Letting an animal run loose and carelessly buying another. Wait till that one gets old or doesn't get potty trained. He will more than likely end up in the back yard too. Where I live you can get in a lot of trouble for abandonment, which is what she did with her pit. Hopefully he will get picked up and taken to a rescue.
