Alright.. I doubt this is site controlled whatsoever.. but I just found this kind of odd.

The Google Ad banner at the top of the pages flashes different sites it believes are related or whatever to this one..

I just noticed that almost always, it gives me links to breeders' websites with maltese puppies. Which is fine.. It just struck me as interesting that some of them market their puppies as "teacup," which is generally discouraged on this board. :scratchhd: I guess I don't really have a point, just thought it was interesting since we usually get newcomers in here that don't understand what the term actually refers to, and it seems kind of backward to discourage use of that term and help promote it all at the same time.

Or.... it could be that I'm thinking way too much today. :lol2:

I get what you mean.. Maybe because google controls it and not MT? I'm interested to know

I don't believe that MT has any control over the google ads that flashed on the MT forum page and I know for sure they are aware of the term "teacup" being a term that is not used by respected breeders. But it does benefit the site if we click on them..........we just don't have to agree with the ads.........and frankly, I don't read them, I just click on them to support this forum. :) :)

OVERVIEW

Google uses its Internet search technology to serve advertisements based on website content, the user's geographical location, and other factors. Those wanting to advertise with Google's targeted advertisement system may enroll through AdWords. AdSense has become a popular method of placing advertising on a website because the advertisements are less intrusive than most banners, and the content of the advertisements is often relevant to the website.

So that being said if we mention teacups regardless if it's in the negative google will recognize it as a word that is used here.

Yeah, I figured it wasn't exactly controlled or related. Just thought it was... Ironic? Something along those lines. Just caught my attention today for some reason.

Yes I agree its Ironic and rather alarming all in the same.

Like my thread about the Puppy Mill that got busted in MN, One of their customers ads show up in the Google ads. They are themselves a seller of Puppy mill dogs and are pretending to be a breeder, and will continue to purchase sick puppies from that mill if they ever go back in business. Lauglin Kennels is A local PuppyMill / pet store, they are getting alot of attention in Massachusetts right now and its not pretty.

I LOVE negative publicity when it comes to these puppymills!!!! It might wake up a few people and help them make a better choice in selecting a new puppy down the road. I honestly can not believe just how many puppy mills there are in this country. . . . . it boggles the mind and saddens the heart!:(
