HSUS finished Petland Investigation

The HSUS finished their Petland investigation of Petland and there is a video about it and a letter you can send. Petland protestors in Iowa have been threatened legally and in other ways, but are still actively protesting.
Is there much protesting happening in your state?

I don't know of any Petland stores anywhere near my area but I almost bought a puppy from then when hubby and I were first married. They make it so easy with financing and those sad little faces just pull at your heart strings. But we decided against it and glad we made that decision now.

As long as there are people buying puppymill dogs, there will be puppymills!

Just read the story and it makes me sick. Like Carol stated, as long as people keep going in and buying those puppies there will be those horrible puppy mills.

A week and half ago I was going to Furballs and Fleabags, my favorite Holistic Dog Food store and around the corner from them is a Petland, and I had never seen it before. I got to Furballs and Fleabags and there was sign on the door, "Be Back In 30 Minutes", so I went for a walk... around to Petland. As I walked in a young man asked me if I was there for the commercial. :lol2: I told him, "not likely" and then looked around in the store. As I was about to leave a woman came up to me and asked me if I would like to be in the commerical, holding a puppy. I asked her where the puppy came from and she told me "in that pen"... I told her "no, no, WHERE was the puppy born? She gave me a very blank look and I walked out.
