I have never been to a dog park. Does anyone go to one on a regular basis, and if so, how is it set up ( different areas for small / big dogs, security, clean up procedures)?
I'm really nervous about taking Jack because how do you know if those dogs are up to date on their shots?

For all the reasons you mentioned Scrappy has never been too one either.

We used to go to one with Kira when I lived in Dallas, Texas. It was pretty nice. Near a lake and they had a fenced area for the big dogs and a fenced area for the little dogs. I'd say the only problem was when the owners would not keep an eye on their pups and not pick up after them:mad: . That was a big pet peeve of mine. I couldn't do that!

I would not take them to the park unless they had all their shots. Some owners are not responsible enough to vaccinate their dogs. Then when we came home, Kira would have a long bath! She'd be exhausted but happy:)

We have no dog parks where I am and so neither of them have been. Toby would probably be the first to pick a fight with a BIG dog! So we just have fun in our back yard!

I have never heard of a doggie park before!! None around here where I live!!! Sounds interesting though, but then at the same time I would have the same problems about th needles & stuff !!!

We have dog parks, but I've never seen them partitioned off for the big and small dogs. I'm not letting my little pooches in with the dobermans and german shephards:o
