:interesting: article. Really makes one think about what we feed our babies. Jack likes carrots so far but we haven't really tried other people food. Our first Maltese had table food and got seriously sick and almost died. He had horrible stomach problems, so he could only have dog food.
I think it just comes down to how you feel personally about dog food vs people food .

I think each dog food has to be judged independently by reading the labels. I look for by-products, coloring, preservatives, etc., and I personally avoid those products. But I also admit to feeding the kids "human food" in with their dog food. Not necessarily for the nutrition value but as a source of encouragement to eat the dog food. I also feed them three different types of dog food: Venison, duck and bison.

I read labels very carefully and at the moment feed Eagle Pack Holistic Dog Food supplemented with human food tidbits. ie all sorts of vegetables. I would feed all home cooked food if I was brave enough. I just do not trust myself with the right doses of vitamin and mineral supplements he would need and to give them to him daily as I am sure I would forget.

I feed dry kibble trusting that he has all the supplements he needs.

:D See I believe it. Like I said my MIL has well had 2 MAltese's. Tina lived to be 15 and her son is going to be 15 this year. Both Tina ans Scrappy(AKA Scruffy AKA Frosty) have only ever eaten "People Food". My MIL never fixed them never gave vitamins nothing ever.
My MIL is from Italy so things she does is her way, she doesnt like the new..
I do feed Nemo some table food, but not alot.
I really think it's more of "To each his own" whatever works best for you and your dog.. I do believe alot of what that article says though.
