View Full Version : I am so MAD right now

Okay you guys know the story with my job. I am out of this place next Friday. BUT, we had a power outage in our building (well really this whole side of town) for 3 hours. All the managers told their staff to go home (one hour before the power came back up.) Everyone was sitting here doing nothing.

Guess what?? I have to stay. Me and the receptionist. The power came back on and the phones have to be answered although there is no one to give the calls too!!! The loser receptionist has an appt. from 2:30-4 so I HAVE to stay to relieve her!!

And I am assigned to the Project Office and the Software developers so I have no work to do but because I actually report to that crazy lady, I have to stay!

I am furious. I guess I will just play on the Internet all day on their dime. I know that none of this makes much sense but I am super pissed.

That sucks Lisa Im sorry.. Can't you have an "emergency" at home or somthing? :D

UGH! That sucks!

Something like that happened to my mom once. There was a bad ice and snow storm and the boss called her and told her not to come and called everyone else in the department not to come. Well a couple hours later the boss calls my mom and ONLY my mom to come in because her boss didn't know how to do what she does.

What a bummer..............I am soooo glad that you will be out of that environment soon!!! They should have sent everyone home and made a recorded message to any that called the office that due to a power outage, the office is closed. What's the sense of answering a phone if there isn't anybody in the building to take the call. (duh)

I would have to take PTO time while everyone else gets paid. I only have very little left and would like to get that paid out after I leave cause it will be awhile before I get a check from the new job.

This place blows.

I feel your anger, it's not fun being the one that so many count on and never tell you how much you mean to them. Try hard to just keep your head up and know you have a new job coming, and they don't. :wink5:
