Neutersol? is Approved (in 2003 the FDA approved its use) Non-Surgical, Injectable Sterilant for Safe, Effective Neutering of Male Puppies Ages 3 to 10 Months.

I am wondering if it is still being offered today. I cannot seem to find out anything more since it was approved in 2003.

Anyone know?

Sorry I can't help Bren, I have never heard of such a thing. Even though Bucky is already neutered, I would be interested in knowing if you find out any further info. I wonder how it works? Maybe just dries up the testicles or something. Okay, sorry if that is too gaphic, but that is all I can think of.

Neutersol is a shot that is injected into the scrotum of male dogs and ceases sperm production.

Scrappy was neutered at 5 months but I found this interesting and wondered if anyone had experience with it.

 I never heard of this either.
I wouldn't use it anyway. I would end up neutering myself if I tried to use it:D

hahahaha Andrea, Ummmm no not unless you have ummmmm testicles ROFL

No a vet still does it but by injection rather than by operating.

WOW..
Why don't the vets over here do that? It sounds easier than having to make them go through all the pain and the operation of regular Neuter?
I am wondering do you know why?

It is actually a US thing. It was approved in 2003 by the FDA (not sure of the initials)
I cannot find anything more on it. Which is why I am curious.

Yes, it was not continued but will come back.

I've tried to find more info but nothing!!!

I think it would take a while to reach our countries though!

Okay. That may have been why I hit a brick wall.

Once it is released in the States and then comes to our country for testing 10 years can often go by. :fainted:

it would be interesting though to know why it was taken off the market.

Extract from second link i posted.

Neutersol was introduced to the marketplace by Addison Biological Laboratory in Columbia MO in mid-2003. As of the end of May 2005 it was no longer in production and inventories on hand had reached code date. The patent holder had severed its relationship with Addison Biologicals. The product is currently backordered. We are advised by Brenda Campbell of the Center for Reproductive Science and Technology at the University of Missouri School of Medicine that they are hoping to reintroduce Neutersol to the US with another marketing partner, and will announce those plans when they are able. For more information contact: Brenda Campbell at campbellb@health.missouri.edu.
